Alright I feel like if I start this thread it will motivate me, hold myself accountable, and give me a place to store notes and stuff.

I've been a content writer for about a year now and want to start writing for myself. It gets so repetitive writing 10 articles a day so I think passive income would be much easier. I will be able to write what I want when I want. I still need to make money through article writing for others for a bit before I can buy a domain and everything. I wil focus on one major website rather than multiple small ones. If it does well I may expand with two additional sites and see where I go from there. My goal is $50 dollars a day before I can stop writing articles for others completely.

So here are a list of my objectives.:

1-Make enough money for rent by Monday via articles.

2-Buy the domain and web host. This will probably begin Monday or Tuesday.

3-Build the website ($10 initial investment)

I will write most, if not all of the content myself, and will begin with whitehat SEO. Hopefully that will be enough. I may also begin a Youtube channel on the 18th. It depends on a lot of factors.

I will try and update this thread daily.

$50 a day with adsense is not easy to achieve, but you have a big advantage because you create your own unique content. With Google you'll need a lot of patience, unless you manage to have some alternative traffic sources too, (like youtube as you specified).

Good luck with your journey, I subscribed.

    Thanks everyone!

The website has a lot of potential. My plan is for every dollar I make from Adsense I take away from my content writing. So If I make 4 dollars a day from the site I can lower my content writing from $50 down to $45. Thank you for your advice.

My opinion is that it will take soooooooo long to go full-time with AdSense, so be patient and build your empire day after day. I would not limit to one website, but I would build at least 4-5 websites.

Just made $10 writing some content, I'm going to try and make $80 total today. My rent is $400 so it shouldn't take that long. Plus it'll prepare me for long writing sessions on my website.

If you choose good keywords which have high CPC and a good amount of traffic you can earn $50 a day. You will have to make several websites for that though.

My keyword's have a lot of traffic, but it's highly competitive. Although I think once I get up there I can compete. I'm making a high quality website. Not just a smaller niche. I can envision my site having around 350 pages of content.

Sorry for the slow updates guys. Not much to report yet other than content writing. I have been looking at my niche though and getting ideas. I made 100 dollars today and plan on making that same amount tomorrow. My next steps in my plan will be as followed.

1-Make roughly 10 articles for my site
2-Figure out a good domain name and buy some hosting
3-Build the website and upload the content.

I'll downgrade my article writing for third parties to $50 a day once I begin this to focus on my own site. Then I as I get income from adsense I will ease up untill everythings from adsense. (Like if I make a dollar from adsense I will only write $49 worth for third parties untill it's all adsense)

On a side note a super buff guy just sat next to me at the library. I prefer to do my work here so I don't get side tracked. :p

I'll update tomorrow fellas and fellets.!

    I also have a question.

I haven't built a website in a long time (7 years I think) and I have never used Wordpress or Drupal. Where should I begin, and are there any good guides you would recommend? I'm not new to software so I think I could pick it up quickly.

Wordpress is probably the best place to start, it works just about anywhere, takes minutes to setup and is easily customised with thousands of Themes and Plugins. Drupal used to be good as a Content Management System but its just too bloated, slow and a hassle to work with compared to Wordpress.

You can find plenty tutorials for Wordpress, as well as the free-hosted accounts to try it from.
