Journey to a porn forum

I wasn't sure if I should post this thread. I'm a bit afraid I may be promoting my site to much, but I also feel this journey could be interesting. I hope you guys don't mind.

Well I also own a free forum hosting service that allows people to create MyBB based forums fore free!

So I figured I can promote both of these services, by starting a porn forum.

How will starting a porn forum benefit me & my business?
People who use my image hosting service will have a porn forum they can post to.
People might see the porn forum I set up and decide to start their own forum using my site.

Research!
Before starting my forum I did some research. I found 2 large forums.
PornBB.org
Porn-W.org

Both forums had similar pink themes, as well as .org domains.


Now I was trying to come up with a domain name, and I found the perfect name.

I copied the Porn-W domain. I purchased http://porn-w.xyz/


Why Copy Someone Else? Why not start something new.
Porn-W already has an established business. They are one of the top porn forums on the market. I'm able to take their name, logo, and create something very similar. Users might not be able to tell the difference, or they might think it's the same people. This can benefit me a lot.

I also thought the domain was clever since; W, X, Y, Z.


I found a similar pink theme for MyBB and set up my forum.

Here it is:


You can see I added a banner at the top of the forum to promote my Free forum hosting service.
It's a Win, Win, Win situation.

Promoting:
So I already had a thread on a forum called wJunction.com promoting my forum hosting site. I simply made a post in that thread showing people the forum.


Also obviously, this thread will probably help bring in some users.

The Plan:
I'm just going to promote the forum using all of my services that I have, i'll do my best to do some basic SEO. Hopefully it will take off.

I hope you guys also get a kick out of this journey thread. I'll be updating it daily about what i'm doing to promote the site and how it's growing etc.

I made the forum because it's going to benefit me in many, many ways.

Here's a few:
Users might sign up to my forum hosting service Startbb.com
People can post images to my image hosting site Imgfling.net (Here's an example: http://porn-w.xyz/showthread.php?tid=3)
The forum gives me a place to post my streamin.to links.(Which pays for each view.) (Here's an example: http://porn-w.xyz/showthread.php?tid=4)

Finally if the forum does take off, all the work would pay off greatly. Also it gives me something to do.

I do not find the whole idea of copying and replicating another website to be ethical nor successful, all the love your forum might get from users who don't see the difference between the forums might turn into hate when they realize you're not trying to offer them anything of quality.

Gosh I didn't realize people would be so rude here.

I just want to explain a bit now.

The reason why the my image host ImgFling has so much popups is because I pay for each view.(Up to $6 per 1,000 views. I'd go broke without the pop ups.)

Similar services such as imgmaster.net has much more ads then us.

Anyways, i'm not going to update this thread because it's obvious you guys don't care for it.

I'll make one last update as an end to this shitty thread.

I added a favicon to the forum to make look nicer.

The forum has over 100 posts and almost 10 members.

I know it's really not a whole lot but I appreciate every single member. It really makes me happy that people are actually joining.

I did some research on how to build a forum and I read you have to do lots of contents and make users feel appreciated. I gave many of the members posting some reputation to make them stay.

I also disabled negative reputations. Because, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it. That's how I feel about it.

If anyone is really interested in this journey let me know I can continue posting. But at this point I feel it's not worth it.

Well i'm hoping many members on the forum will be using my image host to upload the images. I also have the banner at the top promoting my forum host.

I'm hoping to profit when people sign up to the forum host and purchase premium membership.

I don't have any real banner ads on the forum. And the banner I do have at the top of the forum is just an image. So adblock doesn't actually block it.

Never had any experience of creating forums but good luck to you. Adult forums shouldn't be too difficult to build a good userbase, you just need to find content that people are desperately looking for, which usually means offering premium content for free. Which I believe is what most of the top adult forums do anyway, though be prepared for DMCA requests.

Your basic idea is not bad, but the plan is too idealistic.
I would be very surprised if you actually make anything out of this. But then I like surprises . That's why I replied to stay informed...

My plan is to ignore DMCA requests. We don't actually host anything, so the copyright holders can go to the actual image hosts and file hosts.

And most forums don't offer video streamins. In fact pornbb.org actually bans them.

I have no idea why though. Porn Streams are awesome.
My forum has a section for it where people can embed movies/videos.

And it's full length films too.

I think this is the main thing that makes us differnt from all the other forums.

Instead of having to visit some file host like keep2share and download the movie and then watch it, you can just stream it.

I haven't posted in a long time. I decided to update this thread after seeing another thread on trying to launch a forum.

I've been putting in a lot of work into the forum.

Here are the current stats:

I'm not quitting on this project though. It's just nothing interesting is happening with the forum yet. It's growing very slowly.

25% of the total posts are my own. It just feels like i'm talking to myself. Especially because there arent really discussions going on in this kind of forum, just posting porn content. It's not a lot of fun.

The websites been live for 48 days.

As for revenue that's hard to say because I have several websites all on one advertising account.

I'm pretty happy with the progress. I'm making money uploading videos and embedding them onto the forum:
It's looking really good I think. I have not done any SEO work on the website at all as I don't know how.

I've just been updating the forum with content and that's about it. I honestly feel like if I just keep doing what i'm doing it will take off.
