Journey to $25 a day w/ Adsense

Some of you may have seen my introduction post over a year ago as a I was homeless. I have overcome that through the support of many members from this forum and a great employer in real life. Now I am about to graduate early with a Chemistry degree and will be attending a PharmD program in the Fall.

It has been a while since I have done IM but I have a short vacation and so far I have felt very unproductive. I'm going to test the waters and see if I can reach my small goal of $25/day using Adsense, Pintrest, and possibly Tumblr (I haven't chosen a queue bot yet because I read that Tumblr had an update that messed the bots up).

I already have:

  • 1 Paid domain name
  • 1 Fully built website
  • 1 Pintrest account [100 followers]
  • 1 Tumblr account [1,200 followers]

Tools
  • Pinblaster
  • Tumblripper
  • Pinwoot


Plan
Use Pinblaster to re-pin 100 pins every other hour which will link back to my website [not sure what the hard limit is, i think i read 800/day]
Write / Reword an article and post it on my website each week.
Try to figure out how to work Tumblr- I converted my old personal account for this project.

Goals
  • $5/day by the end of Jan 2014
  • $15/day by the end of Feb 2014
  • $25/day by the end of March 2014
  • $100/day by end of April 2014

good luck! that's pretty reachable man... i know someone with 200k tumblr followers and making $6k/month on tumblr traffic alone.

Thanks for the support! I never really did Adsense back in the day, I used to get an average of $30/week doing PPD w/ Tumblr & YT.

I'm going to give an update every night with a screenshot of all my accounts & Adsense. Maybe someone will see a flaw in the numbers and be able to guide me.

It sounds like you're off to a good start! Good luck, if you keep at it you can definitely reach your goal.

Good luck. Very achievable goal, but a great journey even for just the experience of doing it...
 
End of Day 1

Not sure how to report my stats but...

Adsense: 40 page views, $0.00 gained
Analytics: 26 Unique visitors. 35 visits.
Pinterest: 121 followers

I don't think I did bad for a first day even though I didn't get any money. I switched out my free Wordpress theme for CTR Theme at about 6pm.

Tomorrow, my plan is to start Tumblr and use the "fatboy" bot that was recommended. Maybe I will see some gain because I feel like my Pinterest is not getting out there. I've been trying to apply to community boards but haven't gotten any bites.

End of Day 2 12/31/2013

Adsense: I didn't get a performance report for yesterday, gained $0.00 Total: $0.00
Analytics: 1 Unique visitors. 4 visits.
Pinterest: +23 new followers. Total: 144
Tumblr: +9 followers. Total: 1,209

- I don't really want to make an excuse and say it was New Year's Eve but yesterday was pretty disappointing considering I spent most of my morning, afternoon, and evening trying to make progress. I bought Fatboy's Tumblr bot and it's pretty great. I got a total of 113 notes effortlessly! Maybe this will get the ball rolling for the new year.

Today's Plan
- Look over my website's code and AdSense since they're telling me I have some errors.
- Post into the community boards that I have been accepted to. Finally.
 
are you repining all 100 pins or are you repining 1 pin with 100 accounts? of you are repining 100 pins how many times are you doing that? I am just surprised how you managed to pull in followers right away.

I'm using one single account to repin with. I'm repinning 3x a day to be cautious of being banned.
 
End of Day 2 12/31/2013

Adsense: 9 views, 2 clicks, gained $0.87 Total: $0.87
Analytics: 7 Unique visitors, 11 visits, 36 page views.
Pinterest: +25 new followers. Total: 169
Tumblr: +3 followers. Total: 1,212


-I'm very ecstatic that I FINALLY got not only one click but TWO!!! It's not a lot but I feel like my effort is paying off.
-Before I got those two clicks, I was about to give up and switch methods but confident to stick with my current plan and not be tempted by PlugRush and the NSFW category.

Today's Plan
Drive more traffic to my website.

-I think I will start to scrape images and upload them to my website because right now I am only using the bot to repin other people's pins and just changing the click-through to my website.

-I have over 400 notes on Tumblr over the past 24 hours but I'm not getting traffic to my website because of it. I need to restrategize with an incentive for people to visit my website.

I went to work during the bloody snow storm we had in NY so I haven't had time to work on anything.

Adsense: 15 views, 0 clicks, gained $0.00 Total: $0.87
Analytics: 14 Unique visitors, 14 visits, 17 page views.
Pinterest: +18 new followers. Total: 187
Tumblr: +4 followers. Total: 1,216


I'm actually pretty satisfied that I had traffic without me doing any work. It's the weekend now, so I'm going to be on this today.

Did Pinblaster help you to get that many followers?
