Hello, Black Hat World!
For the past ~ 6 months, I have been selling a particular digital product on several marketplaces. With no targeted ads and poor creatives, I reached a point where it generates me ~400$+ a month almost entirely passively. Compared to some of my other income streams, I enjoy the passiveness of selling this product.
Recently I was stroked by the idea that I could potentially scale my sales of this product using google search ads. One of my clients told me that he somehow managed to find me on a google search (one of my sales pages is somehow ranking on a second page on a weirdly related keyword). Marketplaces really suck as you need to play the game on their rules... The nature of my product is like that, so it makes sense that people would want to search for it on google.
I want this thread to be short. I will post all the numbers I will get right in here.
What am I going to do?
Build a single product Shopify store and buy some traffic on google search using the keywords that directly match my product.
What do I have right now?
What do I need?
I am slightly concerned regarding the click cost as google keyword planner showed me this:
As you can see the prices are pretty high... in the lowest range, I would have to pay ~6$ for a click, 600$ for 100 clicks... I never tried google search ads before, so I don't really know what to expect... Maybe I would end up having to double or triple my product cost.
spent so far:
80$ sales video
280$ Shopify store design
upcoming costs:
~100$ transfer the store design from PSD to code.
I am going to start by spending ~500$ on search ads. As that is x3 of my current product cost.
I also plan to collect emails from my landing page.
I am going to post here all the numbers I will get in this campaign.
I am happy to share this information with everyone here as I believe in the idea of team media buying

What do I have right now?
- A product that has proven to be on-demand. The price is in the 100-200$ range.
- A sales video that I was using on the marketplaces. I think I can slightly edit it to fit the new campaign.
- A sales copy
What do I need?
- I have ordered a solid design for my Shopify store landing page (the one you get to after clicking through the SERP).
- Purchase a domain
- Transfer the design from PSD to Shopify (going to hire a freelancer for this)
