Journey Starting a Mobile Focused Company

Good Morning BHW

Since signing up here in August I have been reading and studying all online and offline techniques. Since I'm great with sales and people I decided to focus on an offline business. Of course we can all make websites and Google listings, but in thinking about future growth I have decided to focus on Mobile techniques for my company.

We do Mobile Websites, App development ( especially for small business ) & SMS text marketing.
Everything is meant to increase business for ANY type of offline company.

I created the website and FB page and I am now solidifying my price list. I also have an affiliate agency where people can refer me to business owners for up to 50% profit on the job.

My goal is to post at least once a week.


This Journey will discuss all the jobs I pick up. Any strategies I use to bring business and growth of the business as a whole.

Mobile Websites:

I have been walking into restaurants with mobile site prototypes. One owner was interested but he wants to start work in the future. The best way is to set up an appointment with business owners to show them how my business can help them. That way they just don't think I'm some random designer trying to get light work.

SMS

-Basically the same as mobile sites

Misc:

1. I have been working with some Locksmiths. I made a simple website for them and ran a PPC campaign. They got a few clicks but no jobs.

2. The music artist from app#3 want to RANK on G for some random highly searched keywords.

I have realized that making a website is just step one. Everyone wants to be found on Google 1st page with SEO and G+ listings. SO I am looking for an SEO/G+/PPC expert with proven results to handle all the SEO jobs I have found. Most of my clients ALWAYS ask about SEO. I have worked with someone before but they did not communicate enough for me to TRUST them with my business. I need a professional EXPERT!

I am not going to put this stuff in my first website but I may create another vertical with SEO, G+ and Social media that I can push certain jobs too.

SO I NEED AN SEO Experts help. This is just the ground floor as well so many more jobs in the pipeline.

Hi, I'm being inspired a lot by your Journey.I started a similar company like this but I do 'web'site and also I am currently residing in Africa. Company is just 2 weeks old. I was able to get a project for a new website for a small finance niche.Lesson: Word of mouth/past client referral is a good marketing too.Keeping a good relationship and means of contact with client(even potential client) cos they'll remember you the day they need the type of service you provide.Keep it up bro.Also, can I PM u?

Interesting thread, I like how it's different from all the other Youtube+CPA/PPD thread. I was thinking of doing something simillar, reselling mobile website designs, once I'm done with my current projects.

Update #1

Man, I just can't get away from the static websites. The first client for my affiliate agency came in today, along with another app job. Good to see people taking action. The first agency client wants a website/mobile site and possibly an app. That affiliate agent will make over 1k on their first deal. Not bad for making a phone call to a friend I would say. The app job is pretty big but its a GREAT idea so I can't wait to get started.

Current jobs:

Apps

1. The Nutrition Based App person has my second round of wireframes and some strength coaches gave him ideas so we are moving forward with that.
2. I'm drawing out the trip tracker frames within the next 2 days.
3. Musician app being completed in the next few days. Complete by Friday is the goal

Mobile sites:
I have a meeting with a restaurant owner tmw. I am going to show my presentation to him and hopefully close a sale.

SMS:
Nothing new hear.

Misc:
The "Pro-bono" work I was doing is over. I have a detailed plan of what I can do for these guys website and EXACTLY how much it will cost. When you do free work people just respect you less. There comes a point when everybody has to pay.

I have released the affiliate agency for my company so people can refer me business and get a sweet percentage of the work. I also have some plans for youtube channels for college towns. If you are a college student pm me with what college and city you are at. I gotta start moving.

In addition to all this I have started writing an ebook it will outline mobile marketing tactics and I will give a few pages out to business owners interested in my services.

The takeover is in progress. I'm always looking for partners. If you have skills or if you need money let me know and we might be able to help each other out.

So I signed up for your agency. What are some tips you have for finding potential clients? How should I go about referring them to your services?

Go over the papers again.

1. Choose 1 or 2 niches and use G, yelp, what ever search service to find 20 emails.

2. Test with a smartphone if the website is mobile. If you don't have a smartphone G smartphone simulator.

3. IF the site isn't mobile. Send an email with a catchy subject line : I can't see your website on my phone!. In the email say you were looking for their services and noticed you couldn't clearly on the phone. Say you have a friend that is really good at fixing that. He is usually busy but can you give him ( ME ) their information?

4. IF they say yes. Ask for Name, Phone, Email. Shoot it to me with their website url!

5. I'll handle the rest and get you your affiliate profit.

Don't try to sell my services yet. That part of the Agency is unavailable as of today.

Update

Business is moving forward in a major way!

Went to a conference this weekend and met a lot of big name players in super computing. Talked to some people at length about my business and got some great ideas for the future.

Once again, don't wait to take action with what ever your project is. If you are waiting around and procrastinating you will be slow to reach step 1 AND step 2. Making money is a journey so you have to be taking steps every day.


Apps:
1. When I get back home from being out west I'm going to have a consult with the school officials who want to know what more the app can do and discover what exactly they want out of it.
2. Starting the trip tracking app soon. Like tonight soon.
3. Musician app still almost finish.
4.+ I have a few more requested wireframes but the ones above are the most pressing right now.

Mobile Sites:
I picked a niche and I have been sending out emails in it. Still no mobile sales, but i'm not hitting it hard enough & I know this MAN
SMS:
Nothing new here.

I have been working on creating LARGER packages. That way I can provide more value at a higher price to clients.

APPS+ mobile+ social media pushes( buying real followers and views ) as well as press releases to rank higher. Packages are def the way to go because people always ask for more than one thing.

Could you explain how this works? Is someone actually scouting for leads for you or how do I interpret this "agency"? I'm pleased to see how you're handling your business. Nice work!

Hey MagnifiCat,

The agency is a group of people scouting leads for me. They are in multiple large cities across the USA and all have different city based niches. They scout I sell we both make profit. If you think of it this way. 10 emails sent a day will be roughly 5-10 new interests/week. Avg 1-3 sales. It shouldn't take more than 30 mins a day to send 10 emails. It's easy peasy for those who can work it.

Are you saying when you send 10 emails you will get ... 5 - 10 interests. Noooo way!!!
Here are some numbers for you, for email traffic (if delivery rate was 100%). This depends in industry but it usually averages like this.

Open rate: 15% - 18%
Click through rate: 3 - 6%

So basically, you need a shit ton of emails to get leads. Then you still need to convert them into actual sales.

Also, group of people searching for leads are usually affiliates!

Agents> Affiliates but yea. If you re read you see 10 emails a day. roughly 50-70 emails sent total.

When you send this email, put s signature like this "Emails Sent From My Samsung Galaxy S2,S3,S4/HTC/Motorola/etc."
Got the idea?..Peoples looks that's not a Bot and that you are a real person who did check their Site from un Mobile device.

Hey folks, apologies for the long time without an update...I've been doing a lot of masterminding and refining my strategies. So the agency went well, but the problem was it was WAY to big. I had about 20-30 agents in cities all across the USA and it was just too much for me to keep track of and motivate. When doing something like this I think quality over quantity counts and I would rather have 3-5 people in one city become successful than having a bunch of people in a bunch of cities not doing anything. Which also reflects back on me and my business badly.

I also acquired the materials from the #1 mobile selling company which makes my life so much easier. I was given order forms, phone scripts, email scripts and basically everything I needed to jump in the mobile water. I have been using some daily deals apps and just cold calling the businesses. The scripts work well and get me right past the gatekeeper so so far so good.

The musician app is still in the works but right now i'm doing some social media proofing for them. Note to all you guys SELL IN PERSON I was out west for 2 months and now i'm back east trying to sell and its a little bit harder. But more importantly I provide value so I'm not worried about it I'm just closing bit by bit.

I have developed an idea to GREATLY enhance the mobile sales by giving them a value offer that is too good to refuse. I broke it down with some Angel Investors and they said I can make something big out of it. I can't mention any more because BHW is just too smart and I can't risk my idea.

Back to mobile sales. My girls house just caught on fire too so I gotta help out with that. Dark Aneudy that is a GREAT tip. I'll be using that for sure.

More Focus is what is important.

I have been sniping companies to send emails and cold call for mobile. I did my first mobile focused appointment at a local restaurant close to my school. He was interested in my 2k package so I made a prototype and gave it to him he says he has to run some numbers on ROI.

Emailed a local fashion boutique as well.
