[Journey] Reviving an Old Domain To Generate 2000$/month

Hello BHW,

This is a journey to revive an old non-dropped auctioned domain which was basically dead for previous owner and they didn't update anything on this domain after 2017. The domain is clean and has decent backlink profile. Throughout this journey I am going to test few content strategy and how G00gle reacts to it.

Domain Stats : previous owner

• yeah only 41 RD, out of them 23 are 50+ DR domains which includes hubspot , inc, mashable, businessinsider etc.. ( mostly contextual links from their posts)
• Links to home page From 27 domains
• Total pages - 18 as per archive.org and ahrefs data
• Total 12 blog posts published by good writes. One of the writer is still active on a popular news site.
• Domain Age : Active since 2011
• Google index status when I purchased : 8 urls

My Plan

• establish a site in the same niche
• resurrect few posts which have backlinks to them
• find keywords below 15 difficulty as per ahrefs
• keyword search volume - USA 500 to 3000 for now
• publish 2 articles every week ( 1k to 3k words)

Content Strategy

I have planned a different strategy for the contents, mostly rewritten articles. I will format the article myself according to SERP & intent, will grab parts of the articles from my competitors and structure them accordingly then it will be sent to the writer for rewriting. This is what most cheap writers do when you order articles. Its hard to find good niche specific writers and they are really expensive. I have another content strategy in my mind too which I may try later on.

Link Building

• mostly pbns and guest posts after few months

I was planning to go whitehat way without link building after reading @Kikerinka 's journey, then I realized my content strategy is poor and need some extra support. So, I will be using my own pvt network to boost it.

Monetization:

• Adsense + affiliate

Other details

• Website built on wordpress + oxygen builder
• Hosted on VPS ( 2GB ram 2 cores AMD Ryzen 3.5Ghz if that matters to someone)
• image production + compression - photoshop & illustrator
• Ahrefs for keyword and backlink research
• screaming frog for technical issues
• Grammarly premium for contents and plagiarism
• scrapebox for scraping some data

This journey will keep me invested in IM. I have offline business too which needs daily attention, hence journey will be update twice or thrice a week.

Good luck mate . Just don't forget that great content is a foundation stone of any successful authority website.

Dropping links on average or even below average content you'll only waste money in my opinion...

I agree that great writers are hard to find though. But maybe you can at least give it a shot with some specific project description on Upwork & other platforms? With a bit of luck you may find some writer who can do the job, and in the long run it can prove pivotal for eventually reaching the 2K/month goal.
