Journey from $0 with Methods on BHW

Hello all,

I've been pretty much a lurker for most of my time on BHW. Although I have done some things here and there with making money online, I didn't stick with things consistently. I ran into some personal problems where I had to completely step away from internet marketing but all those have been situated, so I decided to go back to trying to pursue earning online.

I see a tons of posts in the Making Money section where people are struggling to make their first dollar. I wanted to show that methods on here do work and it's really a valuable place of knowledge. That I'm just getting back on my feet with my personal life, I'm also on a shoestring budget.

So I decided to do this journey starting with absolutely no money. I will only invest the money that I earn, as I'm looking to literally turn nothing into something. I also work and go to school, so I'll be updating this in pretty much my down time from doing that and also working to earn money.

My goal for May is just to get up and running pretty much. No monetary goal yet but that could possibly change. It will definitely change for the month of June.

My methods will change as I come up with the money to invest and hopefully this will help keep me on track. I'm still debating which route I will take once I do have the money for domain/hosting, but that's for another day. Any advice or feedback is always appreciated.

Basically if you don't know already, Post Loop pays you to contribute to forums. It's not much, but starting from $0, options are kind of limited. So I signed up yesterday and made the required 10 posts to be approved. Today was my first day posting on other forums. Nothing exciting, but it's easy and made a couple bucks.

Thanks for the good luck wishes guys. I'll be looking to try to update this daily when possible but no guarantees due to my schedule. I will keep track of my earnings and post them retroactively if necessary though to keep everyone updated.

As someone who's used Postloop in the past I'd just like to say that there are more efficient ways of earning your first few bucks. Slicethepie is a good site to make several dollars an hour with (just stay away from the black hat programs floating around here, they will probably get you banned).

I've been paid out by both before, but you can earn significantly more over the same period of time with Slicethepie, and it's not as much of a headache since you won't have to hunt down active threads in forums you're not really interested in taking part of. Honestly their review system doesn't take much to pass, so if you listen to a couple seconds of the song it's usually more than enough to provide you with what you need for writing feedback.

So currently I'm subscribed to 6 different forums and today did my daily limit of posts. Pretty tedious but not too difficult and earned a couple bucks. Also hit the low $5 threshold and requested a payment to PayPal which is currently pending. Instead of signing up for more forums I'm not really interested in, I decided to check out Slice The Pie as recommended by ScaryMustard in this thread.

If you weren't aware, STP pays you to write short reviews for songs of mostly unsigned artists I believe. You have to listen to 90 seconds of the song before submitting. My reviews each earn about $.06 to $.15 depending on the length and quality. It's not much, but it is more enjoyable and quicker than finding threads in forums to post on with PL. The better part is there doesn't seem to be a maximum time you can spend on STP. So as much time as you want you feel like writing and listening to songs, you can.

That's pretty much all for the day. I know it's not exciting or much money, but it's going to allow me to start with nothing and begin investing in domains and such. The work on these two sites can become mundane but it isn't anything complicated at all.

If any other newbies wish to sign up and try the sites I've been using to make some money, would appreciate the use of ref links. Might as well get more money into the BHW community

How long does it take for you to reach your daily limit in Post Loop? And how long does it take to earn those $4.14 at STP? I'm considering signing up with your ref. link. Just wanted to make sure it is worth the time, though time is all I have until my exams. I'm currently on iWriter as an Elite writer which puts my earnings to roughly $8 - $10 per 500-word article. But writing on a subject you're not particularly fond of can be very tiring, especially if you need to heavily research. Earning the same amount without too much straining your brain for the same work-hour should be a welcome change.

Well I didn't really keep track of the time, that I would do it for a bit, then take a break and do whatever around the house and then go back to it. With PL it really depends on the activity on the forums that you end up joining with them. Some are more active than others and easier to find topics to reply to, others are newer and still lack many members it seems.

With STP, have to listen to song for at least 90 seconds before submitting the review but can begin typing about it once it starts. So just to make it easier, rounding up to 2 minutes per review. If you work an hour straight can probably do about 30 songs. Going with an average of $.10 per review (can vary depending on your actual reviews but this seems to be my average), it just comes out to about $3 an hour.

It's not much at all but if you enjoy music it's not really bad at all. They allow you to select the genres you're interested in when you sign up, so you won't get too many ones that are dreadful to get through. The thing I like is that can just do it in spare time and spread it across the day.

It's probably more profitable to be writing 500 word articles for $8, but it requires much less work that there's really no research. STP will give you advice on what to write about when you join, usually things like the melody, vocals, what you do and don't like about the song, etc.

I checked into writing on iWriter but at the starting level it was less than $3 for a 500 word article, usually on topics that I don't know about and would require research on Google. So it was better for me that I'm not a big fan of writing articles either. If I write an article, I want it to be for a site I own and can continually earn from it.
