Hi all,

I've been inspired by lots of other journey threads and wanted to give this a go myself.

I bought the domain around 3 months ago but didn't do anything with it. The domain is brand new.

Started just over a week ago and want to try and do 1 article a day.

But life! With work and family, it's difficult to find time but I'm forcing myself into the mindset that I can do this.

I plan to write all the content myself but would love your input into buying articles - I've never purchased them. I know that when I'm writing them, it's done my way (which I like to believe is the best way).

I'm also targeting low volume keywords (250 max) as I'm trying out the KGR method.

I'm going to try and update every Sunday after today.

So as it stands, here's how it's started.

Stats

4 articles, average word count of 1,318.

Obviously no rankings yet, no scores on Ahrefs, etc.

Hopefully you guys follow me and encourage me to carry on. I feel committed as of right now!

I'm planning to go on the same route
What Broad Niche your in?
Good luck on your journey

Hey, nice to see this type of journey. I'm on one myself. Just quality content, no link building. Style of incomeschool and kikerinka.

How do you do keyword research, abc soup?

Do you have experience in your niche, or just rewriting stuff?

Do it!

I'd put it under Travel. My niche isn't really too tight, but all comes under Travel.

Thank you!

I will follow this thread <3
good luck mate.. good copy is king, and be patient it takes time but will pay off in the end.

Thanks both!

Funny that you should pop up, your thread was probably the one that pushed me to start :)

I use Ahrefs at the minute. Pop in my seed keyword and hunt down longtails (terms match and questions).

Yeah, I'm always out and about exploring so have loads of experiences to write about that tie in with keywords. But I take a look at what the first page of Google includes (be it lists, reviews, etc.) and try to beat the offerings as best I can.

That's what you will have to focus on, OP. Without getting backlinks you will go nowhere
You will get spontaneous backlinks with quality content, however even with a few links and many articles you will rank for many long tail words

Let's see how many backlinks you site earns on its own.
Best of luck op.

Hopefully the content does start getting some links. I'm trying to make them as high quality and helpful as possible.

Well I'm focusing purely on content for now. I want to get to 100 articles before I even consider links.

When I hit that, I'm hoping the blog is at least getting some amount of traffic due to the sheer amount of content that will be on the site.

Obviously I'll be doing internal linking with relevant posts.

That's what I'm thinking, go for quality content and hopefully the links will come naturally.

But as you said, I'm aiming for low competition and low volume at the minute so once the site is out of the 'sandbox' the rankings for these keywords shouldn't be too hard to attain anyway.

Quick update before tomorrows first full update because I feel motivated!

2 more articles written and posted. Excited to share more tomorrow :)

Good luck with the journey, definitely focus on your internal linking and be sure to include entity research for your content.

Have a look here if you want to touch up on Entity research:

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm aware of entities but thanks for the link. Given it a read and definitely useful and explains it clearly.

I am also in same situation, 50 day post, no traffic

Hey, good luck on your journey, i will follow.
can you please explain what is KGR method?

I don't really understand how he would get backlinks if there is no traffic... even if the content is spectacular but he is not ranking, where the backlinks would come from spontaneously?

Cheers. Google KGR method and there’s tons of guides :)

I think it’s a bit early to be talking about traffic and links at this stage. The site is literally a couple of weeks old and only has a few articles.

Watch the thread and I reckon we’ll start seeing results :D

Hi the thing is not immediate, it will surely take months before we see any results. The first long tail keywords will position themselves and then it will be natural to receive backlinks and rank more and more keywords. It takes a lot of patience and persistence
