Hey guys!
This is my second journey thread, my other one can be found here where I outsource all the content writing in order to build a hands-off authority site. In this journey, however, I will focus on building a blog using AI content. You're probably fed up with all the ChatGPT hype online and in the make money forums, but I don't care
.
Last year I built another blog using AI (copymatic) but it failed miserably, probably because the AI at the time was not very good and I was somewhat keyword stuffing. Lesson learned, now we have GPT4 to experiment with instead.
What I've done so far
The website was launched late March, so it's just shy of 2 months old. It only had 9 posts and just recently I added 11 more for a total of 20 posts. You might think 20 posts is nothing, and you're right, but I want to start slow and work my way up.
Besides, this niche is stupid easy, no competitors (yes, I have not stumbled upon a single competitor thus far) and plenty of searches. However, there are still websites talking about the products, so I need to build topical authority before I can rank #1 for every keyword.
The niche
I'm not going to give away my niche, I'm not even sure I can put it in a specific category as it's so obscure and specific. Let's just say it's a general niche, a lot of different products can be written about but it's tailored to one specific question.
I don't even know exactly how I found this. When I was doing keyword research for my other journey I found a blog with low DA and a lot of keywords in top #3, one of the keywords was semi-related to this new journey and I just used my tools (and brain) to dig deeper.
Traffic
Since the website is not even 2 months old I didn't expect any traffic at all, but I'm pleasantly surprised! Keep in mind, the additional 11 articles I just added has not started ranking yet.
Here's my search console since April 1st:

Let's just hope it keeps climbing and don't crash and burn like a lot of AI sites on here. If that happens I will probably just get a new domain and start over with the same niche, as I really want this to work.
What I will do next
This very specific niche would work absolutely amazing with automation, but I'm not good with coding these kind of things. I will probably look into it later, but for now I will do it manually. Please note: I don't want to do a JV or get offers to buy your tool in my DMs! If you have recommendations, please share it in the thread so everyone can read it.
My plan for this journey is, I don't have a plan really. I just want to experiment and see where it will take me. If I can manage to publish 20 articles per month it would be about 160 articles total by the end of the year. As long as I optimize the articles and make them perfect, the site will have a ton of traffic with that amount of posts, guaranteed.
I'm already monetized with Ezoic on my main site, might add this one on there as well later down the road. Just have to make sure I optimize the content and make it look and read good. Don't want to get flagged and banned for some stupid AI website.
The niche does not work well with Amazon, but I want something more than just ads to monetize the site. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe some course affiliate links in related niches or just put CPA links in select places? Does anyone have any success with that type of monetization on a blog?
Expenses
Domain: $8
Hosting: Namecheap $4/mo
Tools: ChatGPT $20/mo
