Hello everyone,
I've been a long time lurker here on the forum, and I wanted to take some time to contribute. Hopefully someone will get a little bit of inspiration from this.
So I came up with the idea not to long ago to start flipping books on ebay. It was when I was at a used start looking for more books to read, and I find a place selling them for only a few cents. That are normally much more. So I left the store with a cart full of books to sell.
I picked a specific genre to stick with, grabbed the book, looked it up on ebay with the "sold item" filter on, and priced each book at the average selling level.
Currently I have over 100 items listed, and sold a little over 10 of them in the past month. Thankfully since the books we purchased so cheap, the overhead has been very minimal. Not to mention I've already gotten a return back on my initial investment.
Here are my current results after a month:
Apparently I have no idea how to post a picture, with not being allowed to... So..
Earnings in the past 60 days: $133.24
Active Listings: $118
Sold Listings: 16
Unsold Listings: 2
Now my goal is to find other sources of book in my genre that are extremely cheap, and learn how to increase my selling rate. I'm not sure what would be the route yet. Maybe cross promoting the ebay listing or maybe building a niche around the genre, and link back to my ebay listings.
I've also noticed that rare & signed books don't seem to receive many views on ebay. I'm wondering if there is a more effective avenue for selling vintage & signed book. So that'll require more research.
Sorry if this was all over the place. This is my first time actually sharing one my journey.
