Greetings to all,
Despite a few questions asked here, I am still a newbie in engaging discussions in the BHW.
I am starting my journey thread, to have an insight on where I am going, since I do not personally know people who are in the business of niche site building and SEO.
I will share my journey here with you.
Background - I have tried several niche sites in the past but all of them failed. I outsourced the building of one of those sites, and got scammed at that time, and then, tried few start up sites which got stuck in the way due to several reasons.
But, I believe that building niche sites is still a good method of passive income. My job does not spare much of liberal free time to me.
Work up - I started building this niche site last November. Since, I do not have a friend or close person whose is well in this business, I am still in the unknown waters. So, I set a stop loss for time and money spent on this project. I have set a budget, and would be assessing my progress at the end of the November 2021.
I don`t need to be making profits at that time. If am a having a satisfactory organic traffic with signs of positive development, I will continue this journey. Otherwise, I will abort this, and consider other options.
What I have one so far,
Niche research - To have a good grip on how to land a profitable niche and the keyword research, I bought @real Daddy `s eBook on keyword research and downloaded the organic traffic formula course by Spence Hawes ( which was uploaded here in the download section )
While going through these materials, I was able to purchase collection of categorized low competition niches and keyyword lists from a local seller ( analysis done using Ahrefs)
Then, I picked one of the niches from that list and started my keyword research.
I handpicked around 30 keywords to start with initially. I used Ahrefs as the keyword research tool, and MOZ to asses the DA and PA of competitor sites, and used an excel sheet guide from organic traffic formula to pick low difficulty keywords.
Than, I bought hosting and the domain name which is think is brand-able.
So far, I have written a couple of posts and built the basic structure of my niche site.
What I am going to do in the future -
1. I have to publish at least 20 good posts.
2.Then, I will start fine tuning the on-page SEO of the site > there are certain things I don`t know jack-shit about, which I have to learn
3.I will have to get the assistance of a good SEO person to start back link building process
My challenges -
1. I am deficient in time. So, I will have to outsource the writing process.
2. As told before, I feel like treading on unknown waters, because this is m first niche site, but I have decided to keep working till the end of this year.
Thank you for reading my journey.
Your suggestions, criticisms , and insights are always more than welcome !
