Hi,

I thought I would make this to hold my self accountable, and ensure I put a solid effort in to this. I have determined I would like to learn more about SEO, Blogging and this general side of the internet. My background is as a Php developer and project manager. I grown up on the internet and learnt lots along the way.

So what will the blog be?

So far I have created it targeting topics around Business/Politics/Technology with a mix of AI generated content (which is then edited + with outbound and internal links usually 600 - 800 words). Then I seed with other posts with real human native English content with duration of 1100+ words and include photos/tables to improve credibility in the eye of google. Looking to do a 80% AI generated + edited then 20% post that were written by the native English person.

So what are my current focuses?

I has determined that the website most load faster, and one of the first actions I took was to engage an experienced WordPress operator to optimise my website. Through this I have managed to receive a score of 96 for computer speed and a score of 77 for mobile (google page speed test).

I understand the google takes mobile score and speed score very seriously for mobile. My hope is that this will suffice while the website is in it's building phase. If anyone reads this and can advise in the comment about the computer speed / mobile score and can advise if this speed is fast enough for google to not negatively impact the website I would greatly appreciate this.

So where to from here?

I intend to build the posts with low competition keywords to commence with before looking to build any back links, I intend to make forum accounts for topics related to the niche, and engage in conversation on the forums and make reference to the blog to assist in increasing the credibility. I know that most forum links are No Follow and do not get used as an official backlink but I believe it can still play a role in growing traffic organically + potentially google still seeing it.

Once I have around 20 - 30 articles, with a few posts targeting specific keywords / topics I intend to begin the process of purchasing backlinks / SEO package from BHW that suits the niche required.

How do I intend to monetize it?

I intend to first of all take it slow, I do not need to make money straight away, I see this as a proof of concept and a way to learn, hence I will be blogging my week by week progress on the 7 day each week and outlining my learnings. I believe applying for ADSENSE would be a bad idea so early I must generate traffic, and some regular visitors first. I believe ADSENSE application my be possible at a later date maybe once 30 - 40 posts on the website. With this I would have limited advertisement as well. Very little as I do not want a website that is ugly/annoying to navigate for the user.

Once the website has progressed to having some high priority/decent rank on specific keyword I will look to sell sponsored posts on the website.

So why I post this?

Well, as I said I want to hold myself accountable and ensure I give this a solid go. I also intend to get advise from the people of BHW, and if you read my blog here and say "hey you could do it this way" please by all means tell me! I really will be relying and using the guidance and advice given!

Thank you if you make it this far my next update will be on the 07/01/2023 I look forward to seeing the opinions and ideas people have for me! Have a good NY

I'm sure it will be successful, I hope everything goes very well.

Good luck brother.
Make sure you have enough patience to wait and watch your blog grow as many people quit half way through since making a website successful takes time.

Amazing wish you all the best in your journey!

I just saw a thread here on BHW, some guy selling gramarly for 3$ a month. You might want to try that with your AI content. It will save you loads of time and money

how do you intendto find low comptition keywords ?
I will use Semrush (likely) to find the competition/relative difficulty for the keyword. Outside of this I will use the google keyword planner (via google ads) to establish the approx. monthly search. This will enable me to effectively outline a plan to target the keywords with low difficulty. About score 20, and around 4000 - 6000 target an individual keyword at a time. I will use a handwritten article to initially target the keyword. About 1300 word with images + statistic embedded. From here I intend to use the AI to write other supporting articles further target the keyword, that link internally to the main article (human written).

Example of a keyword (not one I am applying)

Main Keyword: Best Stocks To Buy

The primary article target will be the (written by human with in depth analysis, high quality content) : Top 5 Stocks to buy now

Further secondary articles written by AI targeting topics such as "Best stocks to buy now" | "What stock should I buy" etc. written by the artificial intelligence then edited by an english native (adding external links + internal links) to improve the credibility.

If anyone read this and think I am taking the incorrect road. Please advise on a different idea really look to learn :)

Keep going and you will achieve what you desire ,never give up and good luck

Following this journey, seems like you have a solid strategy. All the best.

Hi all,

Thought I would post very small update.

The website now has the 7 articles posted, the following page are index:

Home Page
3x Articles

Working on getting the about-me page index so that google increases the credibility of the webpage.

I have also paid a scholar to write an article for me on a keyword with competition of 22% (as per SEMRUSH) and a volume of 2,900 in the USA and 3,800 world wide according to the SEMRUSH. This article I have manually requested google index for me. Hope to see it on my google console in the next 5 day or so. I will also look to make posts on forums with the article to generate some organic traffic.

I have requested this be indexed, I will also look to write a similar article with the AI that will point towards this article. Again target with a slight variation of the keyword. This traffic seems fairly easy to capture. I will work on getting this article to top 10 over the next two week. I hope this can be achieved.

The top Authority for the SERP for top 10 has a score of only 14 so I feel all though my domain is new I feel I can definitely make the top 5, as the content is of a high quality with outbound links to high quality resources, scholarly journals etc.

Good luck! Will be following as I'm launching a few sites myself at the moment.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to website speed, such as your choice of Wordpress theme and plugins, though you've got a great desktop score and the mobile score you have is likely fine. It's lower on a lot of modern websites as the mobile version of the Google PageSpeed Insights test is based on an older device using a slower internet connection. Other speed testing sites are considered more accurate than GPI, but of course Google is the search engine you're trying to please... I always go for a theme that has a reputation for being fast and lightweight, and minimize my use of plugins, or at least find the least bloated plugins for my needs. If concerned I also analyze what the speed testing sites say is an issue, though I'm a developer and I wouldn't suggest trying to do that on your own if you don't have dev knowledge. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it unless you feel there's an issue with the mobile version later down the track.

Official Update #1

I have hired some university student in the Australia to write two blog posts for me. My overall website is around technology and business primarily. But I realise within this I must target sub niche, so that is what I do now.

I discovered a area which could have some disruption, I intend to make 10 high quality blog posts handwritten range from the 800 - 1500 words. This is with images, outbound links and internal link. I still have not built any back links I intend to see if I can build up authority naturally.

I also tested a Proof Of Concept to drive the traffic. I created a post on the reddit linking to my article, with the intention to cause anger/outrage. This was achieved, I managed to generate 300 unique page views to the article within just 24 hours. This will be a low cost technique ill use once I also have organic traffic, will need to buy many reddit accounts though to avoid the ban ha ha

Content

I currently have 8 blog posts, with seven of them being indexed on the google. However please advise the 8th post was only posted 16 hours ago. So google console has not made the update.

I also see that we are coming up in search queries! The queries I was targeting as well, and are coming up in top 100 currently the niche im targeting ranked 50th but I am confident with more high quality content on the website related to the niche, we will build up the credibiliy and climb this leaderboard.

Remember, the website is brand new domain, no history nothing building completely fresh. The screenshot below is the result of outrage content on the reddit hehe.

So my plan for this week?

I intend to publish three additional hand written articles on the sub niche i am targeting. Using semrush I am targeting keywords with 100 - 600 traffic/month hoping that we can climb the ranks on the lower traffic keywords and generate some organic viewership from the low hanging fruit.

  1. 3x Articles (hand written 800 - 1500 words that are Niche specific)
  2. 3x AI Generated articles (edited by the native english man niche specific)
If I can get these six articles on google and indexed then see some kind of result with this niche after two or three weeks (in terms of ranking growth on the google) I will continue to write more articles.

If anyone has any advise on climbing the ranks on the webpage with google without blackhat method I would be very interested to here. As well as any advise would be greatly appreciated

Additionally to update #1

I thought id give some advice on something I have noticed.

So with the AI written articles, those that were edited thoroughly have started to come up in keyword queries visible on the google console. As for the AI content that was fairly raw / not edited very well. It has had no results in terms of appearing in queries. However it has been indexed.

Just something I find interesting. For AI content to be used effectively it must be edited quite extensively to sound like a human.

I think the key thing is you must add an opinion, programs that write AI content sit on the fence, it doesn't neccessarily add an opinion or statement to the end. It just says facts and outlines those facts in an easy to read way. But no opinion is ever added. This is what I believe causes it to be negatively impacted by the google.

Thank

Nice journey with regular update to learn more. Good luck for your target and hope for the best.

Sorry further update

I decided after reviewing two old articles which were just paste from AI I have determined I will delete this to stop the negative impact on the web page (even if it does not exist yet). I ran through GPT-2 tester and came up with high percentage. These two article deleted despite them indexing. I will now focus on real content Human Written while I climb the sub niche of "technology" once I have some more increase on the SERP i will fill the confident enough to further edit AI content. For now I will continue to hire the university student to write the articles.

I fear that even though the AI may has the index, it may penalise other articles on the website or cause negative credibility especially since it is fresh domain.

Once I have 20 indexed real human written article of 800 - 1200 words I will feel confident to start editing the AI content without it causing significant damage.

I believe I can achieve 20 high quality articles by mid february. Currently have 5 human written articles on the website. Lets get this !

Also thought it would be important to add some clear goals for the January

January Goals

  1. 14 Indexed Articles of 800 - 1,200 words
  2. Appear in the top 20 SERP for at least two keyword
  3. Attempt to gain some organic traffic. Even if that be 1 organic click.
I feel if I can prove that I can get the page to somewhere there is traffic and start to generate the organic traffic this would be a good target for the first month of
January.

Please give advise if you have improvement ideas, or questions.

Kind Regard

How much money do you pay the university student to write blog posts?
