Hello,

I'm currently a University student studying Computer Science, As you can probably tell with all the fee's, I'm short on money. What i plan to do is make a website where i offer my website building techniques to local business'. This is going to be where i upload all of the information of what i have done, how far i have got, how much money I have made/spent etc.

As well as this, it is also going to be where i ask any questions that i may have about the project, my first question being, Where is the best place for cheap but good quality hosting?

I hope you enjoy and feel this is useful and helps you all get inspired to make money

Current profit = 0

Step 1: Get hosting and a domain for my website

Good luck. It's good to see someone just taking action on something rather than asking others where the "click once, profit" button is. It's a cliche but taking action really is all you need to do.

The hostgator business hosting package is a good cheap option to get started with.

Although I wouldn't recommend you focus on web design for companies. In this bad economy very few are looking to get web sites since a site doesn't make you any money.

I would look into doing social media for companies. Making them a facebook page, a twitter feed, maybe a youtube channel. Things like that are interactive and provide immediate results for companies and are also much easier for you to setup for them which means you can just charge like $97 for a facebook page for a business to get started then once you have a few existing clients that will act as a testimonial you can start charging $297 and then like $197-$497/mo for on-going social media services depending on what you offer and the size of the business.

Hrmm, i would do that but i'm never very good at social media, whereas i'm quite good with websites etc. And i'm going to use the "if you have a website it is proven you get a lot more customers" View on the situation.

Congratz mate! Feels great getting your first payment :)
