[Journal/Method/spoonfeed] The 'Crashed Challenge' 30 Days to Money...

I post articles almost every day and I'm planning to make this an authority site. However I just earn like $1.5 a day from Adsense, I also put some advertising of CPA but none of it converts. By the way, the Statspress and Google Analytics gave totally different figures. On Statspress I get around 250 visitors a day and Analytics said only around 100?

I find the same with most stats packages that I have used. They all seem to give much higher numbers than google.

Some of this probably results from the fact that some visitors will leave before the Analytics code loads and reports back to Google. Or perhaps analytics may be more powerful at marking bots as spiders.

Hi crashed, I've been following (and doing) your method for the past 4 days. I'm just regretful I didn't find it earlier, I missed on a couple of opportunities. A good thing is I have applied to Maxbounty on Friday, still waiting to hear from them. I hope they're not tired of applicants from this thread :)

I have a health niche website I'm testing the method on, and I do have a couple of questions for now.
1) Will the Twitter attack work for a really niche site where the monthly searches in Google are a few thousand? I know we're talking social networks here, but I guess we can use the Keyword Tool search reports as a metric to how many people may be interested in what our site is about. So, my number of searches is around 5k a month, and I've been using TweetAttacks for two days and what I find is that I'm quickly running out of keywords to search for and to find people to follow. And when I get results, I don't get that many follows. Following people like that on Twitter seems a little haphazard for my narrow niche site. The question is if this method works for niche sites or does it only work for sites with a broader subject matter like football. I can see how football would definitely be of much broader interest than my health niche subject. So how do we apply the method in the case of niche sites?

2) and one quick question about the Amazon method. I created a "Best books" post on my health site. I have also included a "Recommended remedies" section in a few of my posts, and included a line of Amazon product pictures just as I did with the books, with medium sized images. I put this section at the top and bottom of some of the posts, and in some only at the top, in between the article title and text.
Question is do you advise to insert products like we do books, or should we do it differently? And is a full row of medium sized product images fit to go at the top of a post, or should we just keep it at the bottom?
And I guess I can add: is it good practice to display several product images side by side or better focus on just one product in any one spot?

Thanks!

Crashed I JUST started the challenge yesterday. I created the blog added one post and one video but used an exact match domain name. 5 hours later my site is ranked 8th in google for that search term that gets 40k local visitors per month, accoriding to the google keyword tool. I dont know if it is a fluke or not but I am going to be adding some more content to it in the morning to keep it flowing and of course move on to the next few days of the challenge. I do not have a single ad in place yet, because I was not that far in the challenge but the facebook page and twitter account are created. I look forward to earning some $$ with your method!

Read post #1360 for that.

Amazing thread, will dedicate my evening on this, just by reading. Then will implement.

- Keep it up.

Hi All,

Great thread this, very informative.

Just a couple of questions if I may. I've just written my two articles. Do I post these as pages, or am I okay to post them as part of a bunch of sub categories I have made? I'm not sure which is best for getting them indexed, of if it's even relevant (sorry I'm very new to this).

I can't seem to get my Privacy Policy to show up in the bottom of my website. I followed crash's instructions, I'm using the headway theme by the way, not sure if that's the problem? anyone using this theme who can guide me in the right direction?.

Thanks for any replies.

Has anyone any experience with hellotxt?
As an option instead of Onlywire.
It seems to do the same thing, but is not limited to only 300 per month.

It looks pretty good, but WP doesn't seem to have any auto-submitters. There is one HelloTxt plugin but it is 2 years old and it has no feedback.

Honestly I don't know how you guys are getting traffic, let alone making money... Twitter has done nothing for me I get like 17 visits per day and most of them are from an old blog of mine to which I put a redirect script.

Im using Socialworld plugin which autoposts to twitter and facebook once I make a post on wp.

Ive made pennies from adsense, most of my revenue has come from selling featured posts from fiverr.com

Maybe it's down to the niche you've chosen, Rog. Not all niches are created equal, and this will inevitably lead to a certain degree of variance between different participants in the 'challenge'. The same person could have totally contrasting results with different blogs, and it's not always predictable. A lot of it is down to trial and error.

If one site isn't working for you, try the same method with another. Eventually you will stumble across something which far exceeds your expectations.

Well its slowly get more visitors, I kinda did all the days up till now in like 5 days so I hope it will come around...

Hey Crashed, I was wondering if you still had some free hosting left. I could definitely use one, but I do not need a domain.

I have an old blogger that I want to switch to WordPress, as I have seen the numerous tools and whatnot that you are using, and blogger pretty much limits what I can and cannot do. I've looked up free web hosting, but they all have limitations on the CPanel or Fantastico...etc.

If you do, great. If not, could you suggest a free web host that supports everything that you are currently using for the challenge?

Crashed are you still working on this challenge?.

^^ This.

I hope so. I have learned a lot from this chllenge and have included some other tactics from BHW, but I would love for Crashed to finish this challenge.

I hope he's still working on it as well, but it's been about 16 days since the update we were meant to get has passed. i assume he's he's either caught up elsewhere, or lost interest.

This thread however has been great for someone like me just starting out. i see there are experienced people subscribed to this thread too. through curiosity or not, it's a goldmine waiting to be explored.

With that I'm going to see if I can get a couple of answers of some questions i would like answered. The thread literally is a step by step guide, so here goes:

1.
When using amazon affiliates advertisements, do you always make sure it's no follow, so you aren't penalised by google?. i haven't used clickbank yet, the ads i have seen are all landing pages and look spammy, not something i want. So amazon it is.

2.
I followed crashed's example and just picked a website name I'm interested in, was nothing to do with keywords, and as a result I don't have any of the keywords in my Website title. I am on page 1 though at rank 7 for 1190 searches, is this of any benefit with the google searches being so low?. The keywords I am using are quite a saturated market. So what i'm now doing is using adwords to find related keywords to my website, using low competiton and say a couple of thousand searches and then using these as my article titles. is this a decent strategy? or am i better off down the seaside picking welks.

3.
Should i put anchor text in my articles that lead back to other articles on my site? really not sure about this.

4.
Is it worth posting articles to ezine rather than say go articles as the first article I posted is still pending,. i probably could have had three articles published by now elsewhere.

Have a bunch of other questions, but I'm feeling the worse for wear, as I'm having a couple of beers, and my train of thought is starting to wander. If any of you more experienced I'M ers wants to have a look at my website, I'm more than happy to take tips. let me know, would appreciate any answers, thanks.
