[Journal/Method/spoonfeed] The 'Crashed Challenge' 30 Days to Money...

Crashed

I followed the same instruction you showed about Google Webmaster Tools but there seems to be some problem on my end.

1) I use HeartInternet Hosting from UK. So the Cpanel is a little different than yours.

2) When I go to my site on webmaster I can see this message from them.

"You're currently a verified owner of http://www.xyz.com/. Verified using these methods:
HTML file Details "

3) But when I go to settings on site configuration and want to change my preffered domain it shows as Display URLs as www.xyz.com I get this message mentioned below. Its been more than 2 hours that I verified my website. What do you think could be the problem?

' Part of the process of setting a preferred domain is to verify that you own http://xyz.com/. Please verify http://xyz.com/'

Do you think I should delete it and do it once again?

Thanks for everything Bro

Which version of the domain name did you add to webmaster tools? with or without the www.?

Just add the other version to your google webmaster tools account and then it should let you change it.

A long shopping trip? haha, got a list of those questions answered, ready to do the next part :)

I also spent a few hours searching for my photoshop dvd so have to wait for a friend to drop of a new copy for me...

haha i was gonna say, i stayd up til 3:30 am last night, getting angrier and angrier at losing on Fifa online, probably because i was getting so tired, so i went to bed, got up again at 12pm and nothing was up! was starting to get worried you'd been hit by a bus on your shopping trip or something! haha!
Anyway, i gotta go into town for a bit now, so hopefully youll have it up for when i get back :)

I used the www.xyz.com version and I aslo check it on xyz.com but there seems to be the problem again. I also deleted the older verification and did a new one again but again the same error. (Note: I have not deleted any files which were uploaded in the root file hence the verification html file is still there)

Also a small tip for you OP:

On your website make a faq section and add all these small questions people are asking you here. This will save a lot of your time and people will find it easy to follow everything on the same page.

Cheers

Hey is it telling you that you have to verify when you try to set a preferred domain?

Yes it does tell me to verify. The message I get is this

"Part of the process of setting a preferred domain is to verify that you own http://xyz.com/. Please verify http://xyz.com/"

See this may sound stupid but my website is http://www.xyz.com and I have also verified it in two diff ways now

First Way was www.xyz.com

Second way was http://www.xyz.com

But somehow the result is the same:confused:

Thanks "lightning.god.zeus" for your instant pm

My Problem is solved:D

Just to tell someone else who could face a similar problem.

What I did was http://www.xyz.com and made that HTML file in the Root Folder

and I also had to verify on webmaster tool http://xyz.com and make that HTML file in the Root Folder

This is because Google thinks http://www.xyz.com is a different file than http://xyz.com
Problem Solved :D

I see also that Crashed is online.. Lets hope for this post coming up soon ;) Although i am working in an hour and a half :(

He uploaded one of the Day 3 videos, so I think post will be coming soon. This post is probably super long since part 2 of day 3 is also there.
