Hi guys, I started implementing yesterday evening so I thought I'd start a journal for you all to see a total noob's progress.

The first time I heard anything about internet marketing was January 11th, 2012. A friend (and member here on BHW) showed me some of his 5-figure DAYS, which obviously caught my attention as a broke college student. I graduate in a year and I wanted to learn how to make a fraction of that so I could work remotely when I graduate.

I started reading BHW threads...and more...and more. I'd like to thank many members here because they are always so open with methods. It isn't just being open with methods, but it is also taking the time to write these things down and answer questions. This is why BHW is such a great community.

The journey to taking action began a little over one week after being introduced to IM. I spoke with a student at my school who is making $100 / day with IM. Inspired, started the next day.

    Day 1

I was first introduced to CPA marketing by my friend so I focused a lot of time on that. I had my HTML, CSS, and Javascript landing page coded (copied) and prepared to begin.

I began by applying to CPA networks that I found here in BHW. I was accepted to Stronger Ads and CPA Infinity and got accounts with ClickBank too. Despite reading many threads about lying to get into CPA networks, I decided to take the honest approach. I had some ideas, no experience, but I'm a hard worker willing to learn.

At the same time I created a couple extra Facebook accounts that would be nurtured and used for CPA using viral social media techniques.

    Day 2

I did more reading and building my Facebook account most of the day, but read a great no-cost method by my account manager, Marusia, that used Tumblr to earn via affiliate networks.

I signed up for Tumblr, created my blog in 10-15 minutes, and followed her instructions. After getting accepted (instantly as it would seem) to the Amazon affiliate program, I reposted pictures I found for my niche and directed click-traffic to my Amazon page.

    Day 3

I wasn't expecting any huge gains, but I was pleasantly surprised to see some traction. I got at least 2-3 clicks to my Amazon affiliate page (here is to hoping they buy something else today!!) and I now have 8 followers on my blog almost overnight.

Total investment = $0 and perhaps 30 minutes total.

I'm looking to make my first IM dollar and I'm hoping to do so soon!!

I might decide to come up with a couple of extra niche blogs to round out the traffic. At the very least it can help do some cookie dropping.

Things I have learned in my time so far: It is like beating a dead horse, but you HAVE to implement. I spent my first week reading, fantasizing, calculating profits if this works, if that works etc. It is tough to make the first dollar, but not impossible. There are great resources here and even doing something easy is doing something.

Heh, if you really want to jump quick to $100 a day, go with Torrents and Youtube. But you will eventually get bored of doing that all day, and if you would outsource it, it would have been like you would give your PIN codes away. So, the point is, if you want for a few months to reach that level, spend a bit of time in the YT and To sections of this forum. Try to mix some ideas, you'll make it work.

But eventually you'll realize after a time, that long term projects are the way to go, that are going on autopilot for a very long time and makes your life easier. It's just about what you really want.

Best of luck to you! Keep at it and you'll be making a decent amount of money in a fairly small amount of time.

    Day 4

Wooo! I got my results from yesterday (Amazon affiliate is a day slow I guess) and I had 16 clicks and 1 purchase of a non-related item.

    Total commission = $1.49
Total investment = $0.00 and probably 1.5 hours (adding all the time together)

It is nice to get my first dollar, though I am slightly worried. The payout is not ample to at least pay for my time and even though that was only the first day, the second is looking even worse (like less than 5 clicks all day according to bit.ly).

I'm going to keep it up for a while because you never know what can happen. One of those clicks might buy a big screen TV later tonight.

I implemented another method mostly due the help and unselfishness of my AM. I had a CPA offer for a "hook-up" site and blasted about 170-200 males who sent messages to a P.O.F. account. I managed 13 clicks, but no conversions.

Not the most encouraging IM day, but just implementing makes me feel better. I'll stick to the Tumblr blog and see what it yields. In the meantime I am preparing the last steps for a social media CPA viral campaign. I'm also finally reading up on MNS and SEO. I might spend a few hours tonight checking out keywords. I got Traffic Travis and Market Samurai to go with the Google keyword tool.
