    Hey,

I've been planning out a Jordan reselling business. I plan to buy them from Taobao and list them on eBay. There's 3 of us, and the goal is just to make modest income. We're young, just looking for >$300 every 2 weeks each.

The plan is to keep buying and selling until we can sell 10-20 pairs at a time at a minimum of $350. After doing that and building feedback, etc., we'd keep doing that and determine a constant cost for buying the sneakers and split the rest between the three of us.

Right now, we're trying to work out solid prices for the Jordans that sell well on eBay as deadstock including the service fees and international shipping. So far, Yoybuy's prices are the best with most around $200.

How is this for a profitable business? We could also sell locally, we live in a sneakerhead hotspot so we may be able to make some good money from craigslist.

you're not going to be making, because ebay fee's and paypal fees will rape you too. there's no profit.

im just being honest because i'm a sneakerhead myself

Just to bring over what I said over there. Yeah, I've accounted for all the fees. $350 --> ~$297 after eBay + PayPal fees.

$200 --> $297 in bulk seems like it could be profitable if selling maybe 20 at any given time. Of course there's the scenario of non-paying bidders and returns, but those can resolved.

It really depends on the sneaker though. Since you're a sneakerhead, let's go ahead and use Shanghai 5's. Shanghai's after all the shipping fees and etc. are around $210. Check eBay for how they sell NIB Deadstock.

There's a bunch that sell just a well and are on Taobao.

This all sounds good as I type it out, but I posted for criticism. What do you think, though?

Do not forget to include those scammers on eBay. They will ruin your business instantly. Not to scare you but they do exist (and many) so calculate those possibility especially if you sell high price items.

ill be honest, no one buys the new colour ways at a higher price than retail.

your best bet to make money is to sell retro jordan's (bred 11's, bred 1's, or any pair of 11's for that matter) that's where you make the money. not these gay colour ways that they are coming out with these days

You'll be looking at high risk and low return on this type of strategy. It will be stressful if you run into issues. Also, keep in mind shipping shoes is not cheap. You'll want to get insurance which will add to the cost of shipping as well.

Actually there is big profit in it pre 2010 but selling fake Jordan's on eBay is not a simple task with
vero and people reporting your listings. It is basically the churn and burn of eBay.

I dont why I'd get reported, they aren't really "fake" to my understanding. I buy from there already and the shoes I receive are always authentic and quality. Insuring the quality of the product is important, which is why I'm looking for a good agent.

I wouldn't sell them if they looked fake when they got here.

But this debate has been beaten to death and there's a bunch of Taobao vs Retail comparison videos on youtube. Just to my understanding, they're basically the same.

Yeah they are "fake" or at least not authorized for export meaning they will still flag you. I mean yeah there is money in this
business but just know you are about to jump into a business of losing eBay accounts monthly and its really a tough, stressful
    and dirty game.

If you're new seller, either you items fake or authentic you'll be removed. In the past you can send them docs to remove the suspension but nowadays they'll give you indefinetly suspended..

When some people see its being shipped from china, its an automatic red flag. Its 50/50 if they will accept it or not

Watch out for the mud farmers on ebay. Send everything by tracked postage.

How much would your initial investment be for inventory? How long to recoup your investment? The other guys are right, between the scammers and competitors, it's a tough, dirty game. Not worth it IMO. Too much crap to deal with for the ROI (if any). I think you're better off pursuing something less volatile.

Camp for sneakers and sell those( locally if you can). That is your best bet at making money. You can also learn the high fashion sneaker game and buy when different websites have sale and sell them for original retail on ebay
