First time I get my hand on Joomla about 5-6 years ago, I saw they are using tables for layouting... never touch it again.

I prefer WP over Joomla, because it's more simple and easier to use, and powerful at the same time.

Actually it depends from person to person. I mainly use wordpress and i really like to use that.
