Joomla sh404SEF backlinking

Hello,

I use Joomla to build my Money Sites, and started with SEO recently.
But i am concerned over something:
Joomla makes these weird links like:

yourmoneysite.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&catid=2&id=17

Ok, these link are ugly to i decided to use a Joomla plugin to make the links different.
I use sh404SEF (info at: Click here)

So now my links are:

mymoneysite.com/article

To backlink... can i backlink the shortened URL ?

Go to global configuration and enable: Search Engine Friendly URLs

And yes you can backlink the shortened url

yes you can and SHOULD. also do not forget to input your meta title and descriptions in sh404SEF urls. also remove images line in robot.txt in your root. clean site name and site details in global config. you're good
