I have a job interview tomorrow with a guy that is #1 in our field, he has literally written the certification process for the field and was in the field before I was born(and I am no spring chicken, I have over 17yrs in this career field).
I remember reading magazine, paper not online, interviews with him and the ways he has pioneered the field. Not to mention, the many online interviews and press releases about him since those old days. I have sat through multiple classes, lectures, presentations, and trainings where he is cited. Hell, I have his study guides for certification on my bookshelf, 10ft from me right now!
I got recognized in the field myself a few years back, by simply pushing his ideas onto a dated corporate concept.
Here I have been all comfy and cozy, just plugging along and moving up and now I am about to interview with the guy that has been there, done that, and set the global standards for it...
Needless to say, freaking out, the tiniest of bits. Which is impressive, because I have sat across the table from murderers, domestic terrorists, and other some such fun people, and never even blinked.
