Donald Trump is pushing for an "immediate" rate cut, but Jerome Powell isn’t on the same page. The Fed’s plan? Maybe two rate cuts in 2025, and definitely not at the start of the year. Plus, Trump’s already ramping up tariffs and fueling inflation, so they might have to ditch the whole rate-cut idea altogether.

Bitcoin’s already bracing for a “hard scenario.” Bears are gearing up to drop prices down to the $90,000 support level.

But it’s not just about Bitcoin’s dip. What happens if Powell outright defies Trump? Back in 2018, we saw something similar. That clash triggered a brutal crypto winter, and Bitcoin tanked 88%.

By December 2018, BTC was trading at $3,100 — a massive drop from its $20,000 peak in December 2017. My guess? By December 2025, we might see BTC back at $20,000 again.

P.S. I sold all my crypto last year. (I sold all my altcoins, and here’s why)

Past performance does not guarantee future results, BTC trends to drop about 80% from the cycle top - though i feel like this time around could be different with institutional money setting a higher floor price.

Who knows though, TA is always wrong - sometimes usefull. DCA & chill.

If you are correct, when it crashes it will be an excellent time to buy.

What about the link between AI tech and the crypto market? Could that be a problem for Bitcoin? I've noticed the correlation between Nasdaq and BTC has increased, especially since the last sell-off.

Buying the dip can be like catching a falling knife. You gotta consider the fundamentals, and with the new president, they're not looking good.

Blackrock and Trump's liberty financial are buying ETH like crazy, among many others.
I don't think someone would throw several hundred million to billions of $ at something without being sure what will happen to it.

If a crypto winter was imminent, I'm pretty sure those guys would wait at least a few months with the purchases.

Ahaha, so you are this forum's bear.

I think bitcoin can go to 120k before the inevitable crash! Still a bit more to go, imo!

according to your logic, the bull run already happened...what a shitty bull run we had, hum?

Well, we went from 16k to 109k already. That's a massive return if you bought the bottom in November 2022.

Here's some freezing cold takes by OP:

Dated: Dec 9 2024
Bitcoin's been trying to crack $100k since November 22nd. It's December 8th now. Winter is coming! :)

Dated: Dec 31 2024
Everyone ready for the New Year? Just a heads-up: we might not see $100k Bitcoin for at least the next two years. Just sayin'.

OP in the year 2036: "See!!! I told you BTC would dip to $360,000! It's going below $300,000 and never going to recover!"

PS: price predictions in the short term don't matter

That is shit, bro
BTC was like $65k in 2021, no?
It wouldn't be even a 2X in growth if we already saw the top in this bull-run
$65k -> $110k, bruh

In 2017 it was $17k
Then in 2021 it was $65k
Almost a 4X (I'm talking about the top of each cycle, of course there were bottoms)
And now we would be happy to see less than a 2X ? Too low

I don't agree with OP about it, I think BTC will go to $150k-$200k this year and this dump that he is mentioning will happen in 2026, not in 2025. So, I don't think it will be a 4X from the previous ATH from 2021 ($65k), but I don't think we saw the top yet, not even close.

Here's some freezing cold takes by OP:

to be fair, nobody is correct so far, I was expecting a better January and it was just...meh
the current situation is a bit frustrating, but it's not the end of the world or a bearish crypto winter for 2025
still hoping for better months this year

I get what you're saying, but the returns have been lower with each cycle. I don't think we are going to see close to a 4X from the previous cycle's top in this cycle. That would be over 200k USD for bitcoin in 2025. It COULD happen, but I would be out of the market before that, for sure, because I doubt it will happen after all is said and done.

Long-term I think bitcoin is going to 1M USD, though, so if you're not trying to time the market (or holding alts), I'd just hold for the next decade and not think about it.

if it crash to 90Kis the best scenario, I believe if it goes below 90K won't go back that easy but know witch a lot of people interested in crypto who knows if it can push the 110K I believe won't be so affected but won't perform as it did the last year going sky rocket to 100K

The question isn't if—it's when. And $90K won’t be the bottom. I don’t have a crystal ball—but it’s not uncommon for an BTC to revisit its historical hights

2018 TOP was about 14k
2021 TOP was about 60k
2023 LOW was about 15k

If news about China's DeepSeek AI can wipe out $1T in market cap in the blink of an eye in a regulated market (And DeepSeek is not here from yesterday), imagine the chaos in crypto with some madeup FUD.

I can bet that BR ghosts will start betting against BTC soon

It will be temporary but we will see it. Won't be the first nor the last time :)

Bitcoin will not correct thag much here. I expect some tweets in favor of Trump coin or crypto in general and then there will be a massive pump.

not buying the pessimistic outlook, each coin will have its own bull run. The entire crypto market is expected to grow. If there is dip, just buy more of your utility moonbags or 1000x memecoin. Exiting market now when the market is heating up is a bad idea.

The current price movement is not suggesting that. Based on current movement, I expect only positive things for bitcoin from here.

Old Wall St adage:
Top pickers and bottom pickers become cotton pickers.

I think in 4-6 month we see a change of the market. Sadly I don’t have any crypto bot who can handle bearish market to trade :D
