Washington Post to be sold to Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon

Turn Words into Dollars...

hm...let's see how it will change WP

I think this takeover will be very interesting, and will lead to changes in ways folks do business on the Internet...

On what do I base that easy - Jeff Bezos said recently that in 20 years there would be no newspapers on the street for sale - That means he is going to be turning the WP into an Internet giant. Hence following how he does it will lead to new ways to make $$$$$$...

You bet I am interested in that as the more ways to make money on the Internet the better...

Its like a new venture for him, having bought it on personal capacity and not on behalf of Amazon. Considering that he's been one of the pioneers of affiliate marketing it would be interesting to see how things shape up especially when other similar portals are contemplating with the pay per view model, taking their content premium.

However, if news of Buffet selling his shares in WP starts doing rounds it might turn out to be an expensive affair for Bezos.

Your title is misleading, Amazon didn't buy the Washington Post, it was the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos(who currently only owns around 18% of Amazon)

All print will be dead in 20 years - I believe he is going to revolutionize the first major newspaper by going 100% digital.

100% right but most folks on here have never heard of Jeff Bezos so went commercial with the rubric using 'Amazon' to attract eyeballs, but hey thanks for the clarification

There are already 100% digital news sites, He is just buying the brand probably to flip it in a few years.
