[JavaScript] Map Viewer - How it's working?

Hi!

I'm looking for ANY info about how JS Map Viewers like Google Maps are working.
The most important thing that i cant' figure out how it's working is "partial" loading(when you scroll map a little only part that you have not seen is loading). How the hell script know which image it should load in where it should place it??
