Javascript Coder

I have a website that I need to display the appropriate currency sign and an api that I use to display city names. The json file my api provider gives is this "currency": "USD", I need a javascript script to put into my html page that does like if currency = USD then print $ into my <span id="currency"> or if =Euro then print euro symbol and so on. I just need a working script I can add all the currencies later. Need this soon looking to pay like $20. Message me if you can do this.
