Hi guys, been reading these forums for quite sometime and I'm finally close to getting my online business rolling. Basically I have a downloadable product aimed at the Japanese market, as it's where I've been living for the past few years. It's fully localized and I've got professional translators at hand to help with various aspects of the project. Im wondering what best way is to go about the whole advertising process? What would be the best method of advertising online? What would you do if you were in my position? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Last time I was in Japan..Yahoo was still huge. Yahoo classifieds was far bigger than ebay. Might be worth looking at that.

Try to focus on adult niches or warez. I don't know why but via my warez site stats, I saw many traffic come from Japan

Thanks guys. For my niche seo isn't really something which will be that effective. I want to do something like ppc. Peterno can you go into more detail about warez, I have no idea what it is or how to use it.

Yahoo, Youtube, SEO. But need to learn local language (Japanese) for this type of activities.
