Jailbroken Iphone Masking Device ID

Does jailbreaking phone and masking the device ID really work? Any pro's or con's? Are the Device ID's generated at random, or from a preset pool where some ID's are already blacklisted?

FYI - My phone will no longer let me log into any insta account - I'm pretty sure the device is now banned.

Afaik Apple rejects apps the try or read out the UDID since iOS 5.1

So I can think of 2 posibilities:

1. Instagram got through verficiation with reading out the UDID of your phone - you could open a apple support ticket maybe the would review the app again or
2. more likely Instagram uses some fingerprinting technologies

Rember concerning the fingerprinting, Instagramm belongs to FB that also owns Whatsapp. So you could easily be fingerprinted when they connect the 3 dots when you use them on your phone.

Thanks for the advice! I just removed all the IG/FB/WA related apps off my phone, downloaded a fresh IG, and was able to log in no problem. Wow, they're really getting creative with their algorithm
