Both .com and .cc are both manged by an American based company,maybe thats why. I'm sure if he was using .ru it wouldn't have been shut down.

WTF? So any BHW member can be convicted so easily?
Theres a huge difference between the following
1. Being charged
2. Being extradited
3. Being tried
4. Being convicted
Just because 1 and 2 happened, doesn't mean 3 and 4 will happen. He is appealing the extradition order and it may be overturned. Even if he goes,he could do a plea bargain and maybe get 1 year of jail and 2 years of probation. And if he does go to trial,if he has a good defense to prove the jury he wasn't violating any u.s. law then he may go free.

Cant be tried in the UK as he didn't break any UK laws. Its another shameful day for the Brits in their recent race to the bottom. I suspect that the incredibly one sided extradition treaty put in place post 9/11, which is under significant attack, will be reversed as a result of this and a number of other cases ongoing.
One has to wonder, why laws developed to combat terrorism are routinely being used to silence internet communications. Democracy is not comparable with corporate guided governance. It should be clear to those who would rule, that when the interests of the public are placed second to the profits of the few, we reach a point when squares fill up, and are named 'freedom' and 'victory'.

Aren't they going after him with 'copyright' laws? would imagine the UK has them stitched up.
You are right, it's a very one sided arrangement with the US.

No the US are claiming that linking to other sites which may or may not infringe on copyrights, is a crime. Since they consider it a crime albeit one that has not technically been spelled out - they have demanded that this foreigner be flown to the US so that they can use him as a guinea pig. The UK doesn't require that the US provide reasonable evidence of a crime, they need only make the request.

That said, if he had settled for good UK seo by buying a .co.uk domain then as i understand it he wouldn't have commited any offence at all right? Infact, if he is just linking as a middle man i'm not too sure he's broken any anyway...
