I've just went to Linux from Windows 10

Windows 10
-full fan power, temperature of CPU 90-100 C
-something constantly works on background
-system shows that I have 4gb, not 8gb RAM
-system have problems with GPU switch between nvidia and intel, screen blinking, artefacts, screen disable
-of course, I am scared to new Redstone 4 Update next week
-spying, installing some apps or changing system each update (also with configuration)

Manjaro Linux
-temperature, 70 C, silence
-system takes 500mb RAM and shows 8gb
-no screen blinking, lol Linux have better GPU managment than Win 10
-it's ask for every update (Rolling Release)

*I have the same Win 10 problems after reinstalling it or manualy installing all drivers

Laptop Asus K73SV, little old but I7 quad core, 8gb ddr3, ssd + nvidia 540m
It's enough for development and business work.

It's not main purpose that I want to avoid spying and updates. Windows 10 destroying my hardware.

I was planning to do the same thing, but many Windows apps won’t run properly on Linux

What apps? I have Photoshop on new Wine, works like stock

32 bit Windows doesn't support more than 4GB of RAM. If you had 64 bit, you would've have 8GB if you have it in your computer.

64bit... lol, you cannot install 32bit version on quad core

2 weeks after using:
-i don't need Windows any more
-photoshop and all software for Windows works perfect like stock with Wine 3.0
-stable and fast system, without not necessary updates
-i don't need antivirus shit

Hmm..... I love Linux. Always CLI though, and for servers. I never like GUI versions of Linux. As much as I love the concept I just don’t think they’re anywhere near as well developed as Windows.

However, it’s pretty cool still that you made this move and great that it’s working well for you.

Let me see:
Windows 10 Enterprise,
Spyware shutdown via administrative panels,
Adware killed,
Windows Subsystem for Linux installed,
Ubuntu for Windows installed,
VcXsrv installed (Xserver for Windows)

Got my eyes on it and not worried. If I need more, VMWare.

switch to arch , manjaro is based on arch but not pure arch. you won't regret it

The best option is to have both Linux and Windows on same pc I'm 90% of time on linux

At first, when you migrate to Linux it feels like a new free world. But after some time you'll see how much more hassle there is with Linux, compiling/installing apps and their dependencies, everything takes so much more time to do.

Lol, i tried to move to linux from windows 8, due to bsod which i can't figure out after a several days battle with it every hour.
After moving to linux Noticed linux takes little lesser cpu usage at idle, after a day i was like left out in a island. Understood the lesser cpu is that lesser i got applications. Everytime i have to go to windows to complete something and return back. At some point, i have decided to bear the windows bsod instead of fighting with linux so called alternatives. Finally figured out ethernet card was causing the bsod, after reinstalled everything went smooth, now never looking back at linux other than servers.
