Ive got 1,800 backlinks I didnt create

So... when I look at Traffic Travis analyzing my keyword, my site is ranking 11 and shows as having 1,800 BLS, this site is a month old, never even bothered building links to it, any ideas whats going on. Also...

Check to see where the backlinks are coming from. Try to find a date when the backlinks were created. The same thing happennd to one of my sites and it turned out the backlinks were created before I even registered my domain.

The domain could of been previously owned.

Maybe someone was trying to sink you site with spammy blasts from SB. There are already quite a few people on BHW who have attempted this with competitors.

Next step you ask?

A) Check your Google analytics to see what locations have been spending the most time on your website. Note: Competitors often spend a lot of time milling around a competitors website, and spend even more time checking out the "about" section than normal visitors typically would.

B) Once you have found the cities which line up with this. You can then check the "who is" on the websites of your competitors.

C) Chances are that if your competitor has a registered address in a city, they might be the ones trying to tank your site.

D) Finally, check there back links to their site for signs that they have the know-how to use SB. If everything lines up, then move on to step "E"

E) Write them an email politely requesting them not to send spammy blasts.

F) It will freak them out! =)

(Of course, do all of this after checking to see that the backlinks do not predate your ownership.)

I would but honestly I dont care much for the site, if some dude wants to build links for me, Im all for it, allot of my posts actually moved to page 1 for particular keywords with over 1000 exact, I didnt put any effort into it so all I can say is lol.

It can also be a typo, someone trying to SB his site and accidently doing it for you. Anyway shitty links at this stage of your domain age can give you some troubles, I'd advice you to start building really quality links to counter that.

It can be competition trying to spam you, from my experience a competitor tried to do that to my website for a local keyword. It ended up raising my website even more.

lol at ur competitor. i assume these are all spammy backlinks. its time to 30-40 quality backlings. and u should be in strong position with all spammy backlinks working your way

In my own humble opinion, you will never get a backlinks that you didn't create , doesn't make any sense to me... =)

it seems you bought previously used domain....

domain was expired and deleted and you register domain again and now you can enjoy free backlinks...

Do you have Link Within or other plugins that show related posts? I had an amazing number of backlinks. When I dug through them the Link Within links were showing up. Clouded the real information I was looking for.

Good stuff lol, looks like someone blasted you. They probably thought it would have negative affects.
