I've Given Up on SEO Or Deos It Still Work ?

In the old days of 2010 and 2011 blasting away with bots worked well,
Ive been out of the loop for the past year and don't know what does or doesn't work to raise a sites rankings,
need help on this one.

Seo still works just fine. Basic rule of thumb has never changed - good quality unique content, and good quality backlinks from related (or semi-related) sites.
 
SEO still works you just have to work around the new obstacles they set in front of you..stay on the forum and you will learn it all...thats how i learned lol
 
It does work, but it's become more difficult and takes longer to see results.
 
Although you can no longer solely rely on Pligg and Xrumer profiles, it is still relatively easy to rank high on Google.
 
To my knowledge make everything look as natural as possible and you should be in the clear...
 
SEO is dynamic and ever evolving.
- true professional stays on top of trends and industry
- fundamentals are same : quality content, quality work, quality links
- blackhat SEO is harder but very much alive { rank fast - disappear fast }
- white hat SEO is harder but very much alive {wait loong, rank long }

I personally don't like relying on outside influences and have my income/way of life directed, which is why I have shifted away from seo (other than basic on page) towards the more sustainable and predictable paid methods; paid social, paid affiliates, media buys and PPC. That is not to say you must do paid placements completely "white hat" :-)

You can always buy your way to the top - but you can never be sure to work your way up.
 
Yes, it still works and doing good quality work will recover your sites, just want happened to me. Even at the time of so called EMD roll out, I still have my rankings stay there or go up. Not down, but for a couple of sites, which I had bought from someone else. I'm working on them and they too are gaining up, so SEO is not dead and I'm still doing SEO.
 
SEO still works, but the game has changed quite a bit. Spamming your sites with a bunch of links from Scrapebox is no longer effective. The best methods now involve high quality bank links and quality On-Site content.

After the most recent updates, I'm thinking that top notch quality backlinks truly are the most important factor.
 
SEO still works,you just need to know how.But EMDs are dead.
 
SEO hasn't changed at all.

Spamming, on the other hand, has changed significantly.
 
SEO is same but as always the algorithm changes and you'll have to change your methods.. but the main part of success in SEO is High quality unique content & high quality backlinks..
 
+2 on like what? ive as good as given up on seo now. 2 years of toiling and hardly anyhting to show for it except for stress and hemmeroids.

looking into youtube and facebook now...
