Hello, as the title says, I've found that my competitor is doing PBN and has a weird way of getting backling, as in he bought some high DR backlinks but some are like 0.5, he has 100+ domains and only 12 of the domains have backlinks from other domains that are not his, now idk what should i do with all of this info, should I try to find out where he bought his backlinks and get the same? I'm lost..

You don't need to feel lost mate

Somehow you analyze your competitor so he had links with good rankings as per your analysis right?

Now build your site with backlinks check out the marketplace section and inquire with the sellers to analyse your site and competitor site after that build your site and overcome your rival by backlinks

Thanks for replying

I just don't understand why I should analyze what kinds of backlinks he has, backlinks are crucial so why do I have to care what kind of backlinks he has I'll just get some anyway, but why compare that is my concern.

Reviewing competitors backlinks doesn't help much. Its fun tool to use but mostly worthless with a few exceptions. Worry about keyword research, it is much more important.

Checking the competitors is really great but that doesn't mean you can follow everything they did, check with the quality of links he got and analyze the main source of link profile that gets them high traffic and may be you can start with trying that and improvise.

Build high quality backlinks related to your niche & create high quality content.

Get better quality links than them. You must not get exactly the same kinds of links as them.

that's one way of using this info, yes. Another option is to get more and better links than your competitors. For example if you see that your competitors have 14 RDs pointing to the URL that ranks then - in theory - getting 15 RDs of equal or similar value should help you outrank them, all things being equal.

What you could / should also check is how many of those links are d0-follow, this is actually the first thing that I check when I do backlink analysis because only d0-follow links pass link juice and if, for example, of those 14 links only 2 of them are dof0llow then you might only need 3 d0foll-0w links of the same, or similar quality in order to outrank them... all things being equal.

If those are PBNs, it will be difficult to track down the blog's owner. Better yet, try to obtain links from sites that have higher metrics than your competitor. Keyword research is also essential when building links in order to determine which keywords are important and which drive more traffic to him.

Analyzing competitor helps to get an idea of what works on your niche.
So, getting the data and use the needed.
From your data, you can get the links not as same as him, but better than him to outrank his site.
keeping an eye on his site, helps to get an idea of what he is doing to improve his rank on SERP.
