I've been a writer for a long time. Writing short stories and prose everyday. I am looking to get into blogging and make it profitable. I want writing to be my livelihood. Any suggestions on how to do this? Possibly someone already looking for a writer? Or should I be my own boss and have my own blog? That would be preferable.

I'm nothing even remotely close to an expert in the field, but from what I've read on this site there's a lot of opportunity for affiliate marketing.
Some people are partnered with distributors and write reviews of their products. You're either paid a commission for each product sold as a result of your website, or per click. Lots of SEO and semi-technical stuff goes into it, but here's a start for you. An idea or two for you to look into.
P.S. There are websites like Fiverr (or something to that effect - I've never bothered to look it up) that pay you $4-8 per 500 word article you write about a product. Most people don't seem to recommend this unless paired with another method . For example, direct the traffic from your articles to your own website. Certainly that amount of money isn't conducive to a sustainable income, but it's an example of how part of this genre of marketing works.
Again, this is all just a shot in the dark here to help get you rolling. I know very little about it.
Good luck!

Start with fiverr and upsell.

Set up a website where you have all sorts of writing gigs.

Once you deliver the article on fiverr, tell the buyer about your website and give him a coupon to get his first article for 50% off. If your articles are good then you should have a big network of clients pretty soon.

You can also promote your website on different forums as well.

In fact signup on all micro-services websites and upsell everywhere.

Fivver is really good for generating traffic so make sure you come up with a memorable name/identity so you can drive people to your own site. Quality content is the future...or present...or...f*ck, g00gle, make up your mind!

being own boss is profitable but you must be capable of grasping the demands in market. or better choice the free lancers who are seeking for writers.. make regular orders with them.

I would start a content writing service and startup a few blogs of your own to work on. Sell your services on fiverr and other sites and write for your own sites when your not writing for clients.

Fiverr will be a great platform to get going. If you're serious about content writing, then you should spend 3 months on this forum and other IM forums, build reputations, and then start sales thread. Hire Asian writers at a reasonable rates and make profits. Plenty of opportunity in this field.

I have my own blogs, well 2 in the making. One I use for my writing services and the other I want to use for affiliate marketing but I am having trouble as well. I am new to blogging and not sure how ot make it profitable let alone how to be profitable with affiliate marketing with a blog. Any tips on how to take the blog and turn it into something for affiliate marketing? I have it for the weight loss and fitness niche.

after writing you articles post them in the articles directorie with link to your blog that you can monitize it with ppc or cpa offers.

one more thing is write a good content and buyers will comeback for more articles.

Drop me a PM if you are interested in doing some articles for an celebrity/entertainment site. I'm looking for writers for long term engagement.
