While you are at work/school/whatever, sit there and think of good niches that a lot of people might be interested in but low competition, and write them down.

I usually go for "future events" like some software releases etc... Some of them are very easy to rank and get very high searches. A single keyword gets me about 300 visitors a day in one of my blogs.
Do some research and you'll surely find one (one = many ).

A lot of KW tools give misleading information because they disqualify KWs based on "number of competing websites", which doesn't mean anything. Turn that function off, and do a separate analysis on the top10 or 20 search results for a KW.
