I would go with MakerStudios, TGN are very slow for replying... And I've heard good things about MakerStudios.

None.

Been to Maker Studios, and in fact I just left them. If you're a partner already, stay alone and don't join any network, if you're not a partner, and don't think you'll be any time soon, then just go with Maker.

Also, Maker sends payment only through Pay Pal, even though they claim to support EFT.

And the contracts is 2 years but they don't in force that.

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish on YouTube. Are you a gaming channel? You may need a network to obtain certain rights to monetize your gaming footage. Or maybe you create music videos? Comedy sketches? Then i would go with Maker only if you live in the Los Angeles area due to the fact that their HQ is located in LA and that's where you would be really able to utilize their equipment/collaboration with other YouTubers etc. However, they just don't offer those perks to anyone who signs up with them, unless you are up and coming or they see some type of potential in you/your channel then they will offer you some perks like that.

Overall i would go solo until you think you can negotiate a contract with perks or need rights for certain gaming footage if you play video games on your channel. No point in having a network take a % of your earnings if you don't benefit from them.

You don't actually need the rights to show video games, it's just a matter of overlapping a voiceover and claiming educational value under the fair use clause.
I do agree about the only joining Maker if you live in LA, though.

You heard wrong. Shaycarl is one of the founders of Maker Studios. RWJ is partnered through Maker, but there's a catch. He's not a client like a standard user in their network. He's a partner.

Anyone know how these networks go about obtaining the rights from publishers to monetize lets say Call of Duty gameplay? With the recent change in the monetization tab they cracked down on gaming videos. I'm no longer able to monetize a video with a full commentary, if it has the words "CoD" anywhere it gets disabled. Anyone with some valuable info please?

They pay licensing fees.

Just claim the content and state it's fair use under educational (add commentary)...I don't focus on CoD lately, just Minecraft and battlefield, but if they do in fact have a filter for words, just use a different font for the title/tags.

Adding on to what Adam said, I would use Russian characters that are identical to the English ones. (Works perfectly on Facebook for bypassing their name filtering.)

Sorry to hi-jack the thread, but thought to re-confirm few details about makerstudios. I haven't seen any contract terms associated to artist, but only the content.

a. Is there any hidden terms in the contract that directly associated to individual, that stops her to get into a record contract.
b. Would there be any problems appearing in TV talent shows?

Sorry if these are noob qs, but everyone has to start somewhere.

Thank you in advance.
