There's surely not much you can do about it.
Google will do what Google does.
Depending on your niche, sometimes it takes quite a while for the digital dust to settle.
By the time things have stabilized and you find yourself in a good position, it's time to do another Google update.
It can get crazy, I understand your anxiety, but it is what it is.
This is the nature of the game.
Instead of focusing on what Google is doing, focus instead on what you're doing.
Are you delivering value to your visitors?
Is your content targeting the right keywords?
Are you delivering on the search intent behind those keywords?
Are you interlinking your site in a logical and natural way?
Are you putting the word out there in such a way that your website earns its backlinks instead of you, going out and building them?
Do you see where I'm coming from?
So focus on what you're doing and also focus on building other sites so you have traffic diversity.
This way, you don't put all your eggs in one basket because Google Being Google, if you have just one website, you may go through an emotional roller coaster when updates come and go.
So to avoid that, build many other sites, focus on what you're interested in or what you're passionate about, cross reference that with the commercial value of the niche and how competitive it is, and you should be good to go.
