Its taking a while Indexing Expired Domains

I bought two domains lately, one is a new domain and one is an expired one. I made a website for the two domains and launched them both maybe 5 days ago then made some indexing efforts for both. The new domain was already indexed while the expired domain has not yet been indexed. Is it normal for a new domain to be indexed faster than an expired one?
