Yep, Apple also attacked woolworths here (major grocery shop in Australia) because their logo was/is an apple..

Wtf?.. I mean seriously dude come on.. the restaurant/cafe appleaday is just a good innocent business trying to make a honest living.. their name in no way is a copyright infringement or ripoff of Apple.. when I saw the fact that they are going to sue over the logo too I was going to LOL.. first of all the logo looks nothing like theirs... this is just ridiculous.. FUCK YOU APPLE.

I hope if they do take appleaday to court that they epic fail and have to pay out big money to appleaday. wankers --_--

I totally agree...

They try to portray an image of friendly cuddly cutesy cool tech company but they're the worst biggest baddest corporate machine out there...

While I think Apple and a few other companies go overboard in this regard most of it is really driven by the Govt and the courts. A companies failure to aggressively defend their trademarks can and has resulted in them losing them in court. Judges have found against companies for the simple reason that they did not sue enough to protect what was theirs. No company has ever lost a trademark for suing too much but they have lost it for suing too little. There is no set line of what is too close to their trademark so they sue everyone and everybody even remotely close so that they can point to all those court cases if and when an important case goes to court.
