0 clicks despite having 300 indexed manual Links and 50 articles,

and that update only killed me further

they either compeltely ignore my site due to some unknown to me factor, OR, they dont count forum links..

How old is your site?
How low competition is there on your chosen keywords?

you need to wait more. check if your site is banned .if not there is still hope

How’s your content? Are your articles relevant and/or original, or have you mimicked the top-rated ones in your niche(s)? Also, how often do you update?
I am asking because we still aren’t 100% sure about how Google’s most recent update works. So many people have been hit, for a variety of possible reasons. Perhaps they’re cracking down on samey content. Or maybe your ranking now relies more on your update frequency.
Could you give us some more info? What’s your niche? Creative process? Do you outsource? And (as so many others have asked) how old is your site?

There's probably the issue. If you can create the links by yourself (forum, guestbook, comment sections etc.) then it's most likely worth almost nothing.

You will not compete if you only have forum links and your competition have proper links.

Do not loose hope. Check where the site is lacking and work on that.

You can't really see backlinking as 100% working method to get clicks / ranking, especially if you got them recently... some niches are way harder than others, patience is a key in seo...

How powerful are these links?
Are these articles decent quality? Decent word count?

How old is the site and what else have you done to it recently?

What's onpage like?
What's site speed / loading times like?

Already looks too fresh to bring any great news. work more and be patient. It shall pay back when the time is right.
