EDIT: Sorry not google in general, but google adsense will ban autoblogs.

Its time to innovate some methods to escape from this hurdle , lets share your thoughts of this guys.

Im currently on making lots of autoblogs but very disappointed to see this news.
Thinking of new ways to make it monetized.

Agreed. I haven't done adsense in over a year and they definitely had this in their fine print back then, and I am sure they had it long before that. It has always been official, but we don't care.

Then all syndication news site will not be able to use google then.

I think they gonna have a hard time enforcing this.

So scraping is still acceptable you just need to attribute the content to the original writer and or publisher. Whenever I have republished a news release of content from another page I have always started my post off with a brief explination about the press release or content and then have given reference to the oringal source, in the following mannor:

Google is getting serious about monetizing their program with duplicate content.

This is not true . They only scare peoples...

The word "clearly" for me means blatant violation, word for word copied. IMHO opinion, they don't have yet the machinery to ban spun content or other blackhat method.

"Feel free to report it to us"...ROFL, google asking for help!

Otherwise, why not ban eg. flixya users sharing same videos, pics, blogs...flixya is adsense ads partner.

What about copied content with credits to original? (or links)?

Enforcing such a thing is a difficult thing. It would cost Google more human and financial resources to handle. The whole internet is automated. Google cannot bring down the whole internet.

I haven't owned an autoblog yet, but I guess this is not good news for people who have them.

Remember you can use this to advantage yourself as well. If you are targetting a keyword and find that your competitors are running duplicated content and adsense you can report them to google. Suddenly they will have a sudden drop in their earnings and may not bother with that site anymore. Also I am sure if you report it to adsense it gets shared with the search engine side of google as well. So you would likely see a drop int heir ranking or they could be deindexed.

Also you should have multiple sources of income coming ion from your autoblogs. Adsense pay the best but there are other ways to monetize from autoblogs. Some don't care what your content is.

this is my first post to this forum.

i have a bunch of autoblogs running with adsense as the only form of monetization for almost three years now. i get my contents from rss feeds alone but i make sure to put the source. well, a small number of site owners email me asking to delete their contents but there's still many who don't.

I wonder what the verdict is on article directories then, the ones that publish content from (for example) AMR or UAW? There are thousands of them and technically speaking the content is kind of unique as long as the original author took the time to spin the article. On the other hand it is autogenerated, although most articles require approval and are not published immediately. So, on one hand the content is autogenerated (in a sense that it is not written by the webmaster), but is not a 100% exact copy of something posted on another website. It is published with a consent of the author, who submits the content to be published by the webmaster - unlike a pure autoblog, which just scraps content from other places and posts on the website as its own without any credit to the source. If they ban them, then they should ban all blogs that have more than one author. Maybe we should just go and report all rss aggregators to uncle G then: yahoo news and other news sites, after all most of the content bbc or cnn gets is from Associated Press, Reuters and news agencies. They are just broadcasting syndicated content from the AP or Reuters - I think big G is trying to throw the baby out with the bathwater here... Any thoughts?

i think that there is atleast 1k new auto blogs each day, and most of them sucks!!

It's not what and who should you report. It's about bracing for something that will come sooner or later. No one (amongst the black hatters) is pointing fingers; just be prepared. For example, there are some very annoying autoblogs in the programming part of the internet getting 100s of compalints to G daily. Many of these have already left the index unwillingly.

From the gullible user's point of view there is a fine line between aggregators and autoblogs: my grandma goes to yahoo news because she doesn't have the patience to hunt through 50 news sources to find out if the swine flu is coming again. I on the other hand want to see 50 different ways to solve captchas via artificial intelligence which is hundreds of lines of code every time. I am not interested in snippets at all.

It's like the AW/ AS arbitrage. Many have warned about G about to come hard on those sites and when it finally happened, a lot of webmasters were caught with their pants down and lost their only income. So make (good) money while it lasts but don't ignore the warning signs.

They're already banning (de-indexing) autoblogs, regardless of whether they use Adsense. A bunch of my autoblogs got de-indexed a week ago. They didn't use Adsense.
