Yea, he definitely already got his piece of the pie. However, IMHO he picked a fight with the wrong corporation.
I agree. Although there might be ways to make money off of Google Me, I would not expect it to be the next cash cow like FB was a year ago.
I believe google me will not go for tragic/dumb measures like facebook did some months ago, but they will be more effective and discrete that will affect only spammers with bigger problems for them, i mean, they know much more techniques than facebook, they are much more advanced, they have adsense, gmail ... etc. They hire the best guys in the world, google me will launch even harder than facebook in its first day, they know already how to fight spammars, they dont need to wait and see what measures to make like facebook.
Just because some guys here are frustated with facebook that want it to burn in hell, dont think that google me will give you the hedge! you better go off then.

Right!!!Case in point: When I got a Gmail account that's disabled, I simply fill out a form and it's back a few days later. Much better support than you'll get from Facebook!!! And this is with accounts that were disabled for...SPAM!!!

It will be interesting to see what Google will be all about. Google's attempt at Twitter (Buzz) was a great concept, but they came to late to the game and Twitter was already a trendy buzzword.
But I think enough people are already fed up with the FB... Internet Marketers or not that will be ready to jump onto something more refreshing.
Plus it will most likely be intertwined with all my other Google products. From a user standpoint, I like the concept. I guess time and the masses will tell.

Gmail, google maps, google buzz, google checkout, google android, google chrome...
Each service they roll out helps them mine data, that's their motivation to make the best stuff. Most of the time they get it right.

A social network is a much complicated endeavor imho
