I can't seem to shake off this thought that hit me lately so, I'm letting it out here for everyone to give their opinion.
I noticed something recently trading $BTC that honestly changed how I look at profits.
Two traders take the same setup. Same entry around 60k, same exit near 63k. Clean 5% move. On paper, both should win the same.
But they don’t.
One ends up with noticeably less profit, and it’s not because of strategy. It’s the small things… fees, execution, slippage.
At first, I used to ignore this side of trading. Felt like if your setup is solid, everything else is minor. But after repeating trades over time, it becomes obvious those “minor” costs are quietly eating into results.
A few basis points here, a slightly worse fill there… it adds up faster than most people expect.
That’s what got me paying more attention to efficiency, not just entries. I’ve even been exploring things like Bitget VIP, just to see how much difference reduced fees and better execution can actually make over time.
Because now I’m starting to question something…
If two traders have the same strategy and discipline, is the real edge just who manages their costs better?
