It's IMPOSSIBLE be a new seller on ebay

I have my own shopping cart and I rank on first page for a keyword which is 6500 times searched according to google keyword external tool and competition for this keyword is very high

I am getting traffic with 60% bounce back
my site is piofessional
good quality

but sales volume is negligible

how ever my alexa rank is poor but i dont worry about my alexa since google analytics shows good numbers

my pricing is same as competitors
this tempts me to move towards ebay


now what says?

Well said. I used to sell on ebay as well, but it became too big a hassle. Paypal sitting on my money to earn interest is what really irritated me.

I didn't know the first thing about building a website or IM, but I studied everything I could. I knew I didn't have time to learn html or php so I bought a WP theme and dove head first into building my own site with a shopping cart. It has been a lot of work. I don't regret a second of it though. I control everything now. With the great information provided in this forum I think anyone can do it. Study your ass off and make the leap.
 
Yep EBay sucks. I don't even sell on ebay anymore. I only BUY. I resell on my on sites, market my own sites and control my money. But F***ING ebay is now limiting me on how much I buy. I could throw $2K a day at ebay and then resell those items for $500 profit... but ebay keeps limiting my purchases... can you believe that? I mean I spend an hour a day finding ways around their new systems. I always find a way... but imagine if instead of breaking the ebay lock I spent that time marketing and selling? Wow I could make much more money... or go for a boat ride... something.

I have another model I'm going to set up and this time it will be supplied by Amazon. I have the model set and tested amazon supplier... they are friendly and don't care about my buying restricitons... send as a gift.. it's all good. It's like amazon has a model built on captialism and ebay is old Russia. The sooner ebay dies the better I will be able to sleep at night. It was a good place to earn and learn but those days are gone. I give them ZERO $ in fees now atleast I have that... but I give them hours a week of my time.. just to buy stuff... WTF!?!
 
If you want to make some real cash with ebay this is what you do.

1. Find a few people willing to steel from a store with an electronics dept.
2. Have them take magic jacks, san disk 16GB/8GB flash drives or whatever you think has some value and can be taken easily.
3. List items at a low cost
4. Split profits with your boosters.
5. Collect your ebay love!

This is a joke but you could probably make it work if you followed these steps.
 
There will be a moment where you find out your true working method mate, just don't give up ;)
 
Sometimes life just has its own way of flipping you off. Lol.
 
What blows my mind is Ebay is willing to cut their own profits with these limits. Its crazy too believe.
 
yeah I Think eBay is Very Hard Now for Newbies i had tried too and get same like you
 
Just put up something low and get like 20 feedback (sell some virtual stuff w/ buyout close to bid)
 
also ebay is racist and bullies. they allow usa seller sell vero item but not for hongkong seller also aged account seller sell more vero than new account.

if you listing vero item you put a Risk on your account
but if you get sale you get much money
it depend on your lucky day

A pair of boots I was selling on Ebay got unfairly Veroed, my listing was targeted by UGG Australia, even though the boots are a completely different trademarked brand than UGG, some large companies do Vero abuse, it's very annoying

wow never heard of a buying limit!! but yeah I agree with everything said above and below ebay loves ps and the big boys like buy and tiger and screws everyone else if only bonanza got more traffic
 
There is a buy limit to discourage people trying to ruin someone's auction with a new account by buying everything. It's a sort of seller protection. Even smaller auction sites have this feature.
 
egay is not only hard for new seller, it is hard for old sellers too, even the powersellers.
 
yea my buddie just sold his first item and got negative feedback which sucks
