its hard to get free traffic (my experience)

i did a few tests building a few websites and blog and trying to promote them in various ways ,only free ways to get traffic.

first there is my private tutor website, for this i used what i know of seo to get it to the first page of google,first as the last link and now in 3rd place on the keywords:web development tutor and php teacher.
to clarify those are keywords not in english and in my small country. the tutor keyword got alot of competition in the last two years in my country.
anyway the results are pathetic i get calls once a month. maybe becuse there aren't any demand for it.

i tried providing a few other services like graphic design and video editing and video marketing. for this i used facebook+landing pages, i used 50 free marketing groups, i got 300 views for 100 shares for each landing page (more or less). i tried paying for facebook ads in small amount to test it i got almost only users with arabic names (bots who like everything so facebook wont figure out thier bots). oh and less then 10 leads and one client that tried not paying me thank god for watermarks(before i paid facebook and got the arab bots).

then i tested affiliate marketing, i used a website, a wordpress.com blog,tweeter, tumbler and an image sharing social network. i got 10-20+ views per post and 1-2 follower a day. in 20 days i got 250 website unique visits,and 30 affiliate offer views/hits (no conversions).

i dont know if the content i use sucks (how can they tell? there's almost no traffic how can you rate something you haven't seen?).

i researched youtube search terms in a somewhat popular niches, the first results posted 3 days ago had a max of 800 views....how can anyone make a living off that? do they get more views in a week?you need thousands of views a day to have a chance to convert a few of them using an affiliate program (or mailing list signups, sales etc) to make a living or pocket money.

conclusion is that there aren't much steady free traffic resources, unless you go viral every few days.
or maybe it takes a year to build an audience. meybe a few months is not enough?
also alot of admins will block you for fun and facebook treats affiliate links as spam so its even harder tweeter also blocks after 50 or so actions they consider bot behavior.
paying for traffic is either ridiculously high in google or fake "arab bots" with facebook(even with tons of filters) and who knows what kind of fake traffic other networks sell. how the hell people invest and make a living off this? or even break even.
i saw methods in youtube that teach sending bot traffic to traffic sharing networks...oh ye im running to pay for that quality non human traffic i heard those toasters are loaded...

1. Why would you only Rank 1 site in 1 Niche, and a small non English niche as well, then expect to gain any traffic or income of note?

- It may be a good idea to expand your horizons a bit and look to promote affiliate offers in large niches, where you can go wide as in rank 20 sites for small niche low comp KWs linking to various aff offers.

2. Once again, how wide did you really go in FB group posting? 1 account, 2 accounts, 3 accounts? How many days? You are asking if content was bad, well it probelm could be you posted in groups which are saturated with content and your small scale test was lost in all of the noise.

- Once again, build a stronger base of groups for the posting project, set your Group Post Ads apart from others, target diffrent niches.

3. Arabic Users? You can target based on country, language, interest, demographic, etc. Expand and test.

i did half of my income 2 years ago only form teaching privete lessons why wouldnt i want to promote it? well times has changed and the websites i was listed got close and the ones that are left sucks and mine kinda suck to even on the first page of google and even when i have alot of content and some free stuff.
plus its so easy teaching people programing then working for somone.

oh ye those free advertising groups are full of advertising,after you post 20+ people post thier ad so unless youre in the featured post you wont get alot of views.
other groups see advertising as spam (unless you pay the group owner).

i can prove it and others have wrote about it and i did write i filtered out in the ad options anything i could languge,culture,religion etc (they have a hole article teaching how to filter them) and still thats all i got, my luck was i didnt invest too much on it (invest=lost/wasted).

anyway my goal was to see other people opinion of this. and experiences with free trafic .

Maybe you are just having bad luck, because my own experience has been very diffrent.

I mean obviously it wont be "easy" to get massive free traffic, but it is very doable and all of the information to do so is on BHW, maybe read it a bit more, choose a method, set a daily income or traffic goal, then work backwards in creating your process.

ill try that, and yes i considered it was just bad luck. ill search for free trafic on bhw. i come from a programing background and not used to IM yet, but i have some experience in seo.
