Look, I know that I'm a newbie, ok? Finally, after 8 years of lurking, I've started. The planningning has begun...
My rough draft initial ideas:
Well one of my ideas (I have a few more on the back burner) is to actually do written and video reviews of products, instead of generating FAKE reviews, while also maintaining original blog content about the niche. Maybe I'm thinking too broad and need to focus on a very specific thing as a beginner? FOOL! DON'T SAY THAT! At first, I just want to keep generating quality content, and broader ideas seem easier to achieve that type of content. Not too much, too fast either. Slow and steady. CONTENT IS KING! MONETIZATION BE DAMNED! I have a knack to just be able to type forever. It just comes to me. No writer's block here.
Instead of having a boring review process, I'd like to have a comedic aspect to it too...while still being informational. I feel like comedic reviews are underrated and mostly untapped like other forms of comedic media. But that depends on the products or services being reviewed. I just take into account when I research a product and read reviews. I want to read something engaging and funny while still being informative. Maybe that's just me.
I have all the equipment for video too...even a flawless green screen with no bleed over. It's a fantastic setup because I also stream on Twitch for fun sometimes.
After reviewing my products, is it still a thing to have a giveaway of the product I just reviewed to generate an email list, and also, share/follows on other platforms for extra entries in the giveaways? I've read on here that an email list won't work until the domain the emails are sent from is trusted or an established source? If I get a bit of traffic over time, this seems like a great way to increase traffic and build an email list for future monetization.
I have a couple domains already related to niches I have in mind. I have a broad niche in mind with competition that is more than I would like, but also not the worst. The industry is definitely in its infancy, has time and inevitable potential to grow much larger. Also, I enjoy reading and discussing it with others. So why not try, right? A similar site currently hasn't been updated since 2021 and is strictly a review/affliate site. Not much else. It's got an average of 50k monthly views. AND IT'S THE #1 RESULT. There's no other sites on the front page that focus on the topic entirely except that one. Yeah there's some big tech sites that have one-off articles about the niche, but not much else. I was shocked when I was searching. The site doesn't even have proper logo. Just normal colored text. So it might be a good niche? Only time will tell if I commit to the idea.
The other domain is considered, I'm guessing, a micro niche within the broader niche mentioned above. So it can be used as a backlink if I created a website, right? I guess it wouldn't help unless the website was established. It's 3 word domain that is exactly like the keywords. I've read that the website having all the targeted keywords in it doesn't help much anymore with SEO, but I got it anyways. Can't hurt. KD is low, like below 10, but has monthly average views between 1k-10k, maybe more with the top 3 keyword results. Other keyword planners have different metrics. Another one said around 2800 and ahrefs free planner said even less. Hard to tell which is more accurate when using free tools I suppose. I feel like paying for ahrefs just starting out when I don't fully grasp current SEO isn't going to help me right now. Or I could be wrong.
This is just a gestation period. Nothing is set in stone and I'll hold on to these domains even if I don't use them. The main one is a two word .com domain even though it's techinically 3 words. No premium price. I WIN! Most people combine the last 2 words of it into one so I consider it a two word domain. I don't care what you say, FIGHT ME!
I'm sure when I have things a bit more on track and organized that I will start a noob journey. It will be slow at first. DON'T RUSH ME!
So with all that said, LET ME HAVE DOSE OF REALITY!
