Is YouTube seo also possible for a shorts channel ? How to do it for getting higher ranks on YouTube.

I don't this it will matter. Shorts are person to person. Really depends on audience. First few shorts of your channel might need good tags & description then its just your content & algorithm

Shorts run on a different principle to normal accounts so I'm not sure if that factors in, or if it matters there at all. Shorts were really pushed forward though and got engagements hot and fast but it's largely slowed down so it seems to be variable. Who knows, if not now then it might be worthwhile in the future.
