Is youtube ranking working right now?

YouTube ranking is definitely not dead. Anyone who says otherwise is lying, or lazy.
Y'all need to start putting more effort into your video marketing strategies; if all you have tried is hitting your video with botted views, likes, and comments, then of course your going to have a hard time ranking. YouTube's ranking and suggestion algorithms are smarter then that and have been for some time now. Work on making your strategy more complex. It's still a goldmine for those who are putting in the effort. I consider all of the well known ranking tips and tricks discussed on this forum the bare minimum - you should be doing much more then the bare minimum to rank your videos now.

First this wont work on gaming, hacks etc niches because G keeps a close eye on them. Embed ur videos everywhere use G and search operators to find ur targets.

I'd love to help however the question is too broad. I don't use the same strategy to rank every kind of video and there are infinite variables to consider. Here's some info on what is involved in most of my strategies to get you thinking on the right track for what you can do:
For starters, I use the basic services for most of my videos, which include video views, video likes and dislikes, video comments, comment engagement, and social shares.
I usually embed my videos into 10-100 sites in my embed network (with 10-20 social signals to each embed) as well as add a few high metric PBN backlinks. I've recently started adding my videos to playlists on other accounts (creating 2-5 playlists per account with 2-5 accounts per video), plus embed all of the playlists, share the playlists, share the playlist embeds, etc.
For some videos on my own channels I'll use a basic playlist silo technique. I'll post a thread in a few days explaining how this works (there are already resources online for this so you can do your own research now without my assistance if interested).
To hep drive real targeted traffic alongside the paid views, I post my videos to Reddit in 1-5 relevant subreddits, and boost the posts each with 10-30 upvotes depending on the subreddit. I currently have access to a large network of high following Twitter accounts that I can get cheap promotion on, so occasionally I have my videos shared to a few million followers (usually only do that for high paying clients or to boost older videos that are ranking well but slowly dropping to help maintain/increase rank if I think the ROI will be there as it would be too expensive to promote all my videos this way).
For videos I think I can get a good ROI on, I've recently started doing outreach to channels that have similar niche videos, or videos targeting same keywords that are already ranking, then offer to pay the video uploaders a small fee for them to link to my video (or promote it in a pinned comment) permanently. There is a potential seo boost from the internal YouTube linking (I haven't had time to do formal research yet but I will share results in the coming months on this once enough data has been collected). The main thing your getting with your video being linked by related videos that are already ranking is targeted traffic drip-fed for as long as their video is up/ranking; you can make money from this traffic, gain subscribers, improve your ranking with these extra views, etc.
You can build a strategy around free, paid, or a mix of free and paid services, outsource everything (inc. views, likes, comments, social shares, embeds, reddit posts/upvotes, etc.) or figure out how to do all of this for yourself. So many ways you can promote and rank videos your videos

Do hard work for ranking youtube videos.
You're misunderstanding. We were saying it has been dead since the update but will get fixed soon. Is your advice later on in the thread working post-update or is it general advice for ranking on youtube? How competitive (and what search volume) are your keywords where you have to do this level of off page SEO? I have never had the need to do any kind of link building to rank my videos, but they aren't really competitive.

Okay no worries. I mean, it's not really dead though, it's possible to rank videos now without buying views, always has been. Panels are currently dead as you say but on that note, I'd suggest checking them again over the next 2-5 days; I've heard that some good, fast views from a couple of major providers will be back very soon (so they say at least, we shall see).
My advice was just general YouTube marketing advice. I do the playlists and comments myself, as well as some shares and embeds; and all other services are still working, just not the good views. I've been ranking videos since the update and it's going fine but am targeting lower comp and search volume keywords at the moment until my view provider is back in business, then it's business as usual. In the meantime, I've been able to purchase some views although slow ones from a trusted panel, and use techniques to drive organic traffic to get enough views to rank okay. Always a way to get things done no matter the update YouTube makes to their algo.
I been building video backlinks for a while now as I've had great results over just using views/engagement. I'm currently doing a wide scale test but won't have results to share for a few months. High authority links, general embeds, playlists, etc. aren't very expensive plus I buy the services I use in bulk so it's even cheaper for me. If you haven't done so, I'd suggest trying to improve on your strategy if all you're still doing are the basics. Try things on a few videos when you can afford it; I don't know what exactly what kind of videos you're promoting but testing other methods to expand on your strategy is more likely to help then harm, and if results are negligible or negative you can just stop the bad services.
I've never had negative results with my link building efforts and I'm sure it's effective so do it on most videos, putting less time/money into lower comp, more into higher comp, etc. When targeting higher competition keywords, where your competitors would likely have natural embeds/playlists built to their videos organically from news and niche related sites, buying embeds, etc. may look more natural then not to YouTube's algo anyways if that makes sense, and in those cases with highly competitive videos such services could have better results.
I can confirm that ranking now indeed works. Ranked a keyword in about an hour or two. Currently sitting at #4 after about 3 hours (it's moving up). It's working perfectly, great news.
