The website I track has shown a decline in traffic could be a one off thing or I have a feeling google is acting naughty again. So how’s your sites traffic doing in Aug?

Mine is up for almost 100% on average compared to July

It depends a lot on the niche of the site in question, but another important factor is that we are in the holiday season, and people are out visiting places. In my case, most sites are ok, but in the case of a few I see a slight drop in rank.

I'm seeing an increase in reports of people reporting this strange 'sandbox effect' by Google.

Like suddenly all your SERP rankings will disappear, causing a sudden major drop of traffic (as much as 95% or even 100%).
Most of the time it comes back after 24 hours... But I've also seen (and experienced personally) of some that only came back after weeks or a month.

This is a very annoying sandbox effect that can happen to any site - Blackhat or Whitehat. And you can't do anything about it other than just waiting it out.

And if anyone is wondering, no, there wasn't any backlinking campaign going on when it happened. No site update, .etc. Google just decides to stop showing any SERP rankings for your site.

edit: Oh, and forgot to mention that since the month of July until now, Google have been doing many unconfirmed updates. Even today alone I notice some SERP shuffling... Seems like something is going on.

Many vendors not only you notice the traffic down from July 28. But I can't see or find any notice at Google officially or unconfirmed update yet. So, I am still hold on before taking any step.

I have multiple AI sites that had 100+ traffic a day. now I am getting close to 20. probably an update?

Google doing a update I got told and will take time.

Reviews are all being hit hard aswell on gmb.

Might be google core update is the reason. Don't do anything right away. Just and see what happens. You might regain the traffic. Have some patience and act wisely.
