Is WP good for blogs?

I realize that the platform was exactly designed for this. But what about actual convenience and simplicity of use? Maybe you have experience with better alternatives?

I believe that most users in BHW are using WP for their blogs.
It's super beginner friendly.
Since it's been around for a while, you can find guides for basically everything.
Plugins can help you be more productive and save a bunch of time.
 
Question : What else is there in the world other than Wordpress?
Answer : Nothing

WordPress powers majority of websites on the internet today. These websites include but are not limited to blogs, content sites and e-commerce sites. If WordPress isn't Good, there won't be large number of people using it for blogging.

Another important thing you should consider when choosing a platform is flexibility especially with regards to growth and expansion. WordPress makes it easier and gives you lots of options to be flexible with your site and optimization. WordPress is the way to go in my opinion.
 
Ghost is a good WP alternative and perhaps the only one that comes close considering selfhosted options. Plus less bloated too.
