I have registered a domain last month or so but still not built a site yet
The domain is wallpapersdev dot com.

I planned to build a wallpaper website but wondering whether it's worth to start? I have little IM experience and don't know much about SEO either.

Any advice how to monetize this or should I leave it as it is?

Thanks

You've already bought the domain, so you may as well develop the site.
At least you'll gain some experience in creating websites, which will be helpful in the future.

Regarding the monetizing, after you've created the website you should try applying for adsense. There might be better alternatives, but at least it's a start.

Don't forget to use social media like facebook and twitter to try and drive traffic to the website (seeing as you don't know how to do SEO).

Good luck!

Totally agree with,Learn from it, as you know for sure there are very good Wallpaper site around. To make money will be though but take it as experience in first place you will come across so many things you want to do.... after all, first you need content, then traffic (human),and eventually google, aff, SEO, etc

good luck

Thanks all for your reply. I've made up my mind to develop it.

This seems very interesting, can you keep this updated on how much you make in this project ?

I haven't run one, but I read elsewhere here on BHW (don't remember where, or I'd link you) that wallpaper sites have a very low CTR on ads, hence you shouldn't expect massive ad earnings - assuming thats how you were planning to monetize it.

Yes I also got from somewhere that this kind of sites have low CTR. Maybe I should come up with some other monetization ways..

Wallpapers sites are a waste of disk space and bandwidth.

Instead of developing a new one, buy an existing one and see if it works for you.
