is voice broadcasting illegal ?

i was planning a voice broadcasting campaign and noticed it is now illegal in us..
what can be the consequences if i do voice broadcasting ? do they really track down the source of calls and take action ?
not talking abt broadcasting to business ...

the problems with companies is that they do charge a lot.. but what iam doing is iave setup a broadcasting system on an opensource platform which is a lot better than paid services and the only thing i pay is for voip ... i was searching for some ways to do it legally but the discussion forums all says other than non profit and charity institutions all the other voice broadcasting is purely illegal...

I don't do voice broadcasting, but what I was getting at is you could devise your own way of profiting despite the rules. If the only things allowed are charity and non-profit campaigns, you could become an affiliate with an affinity program for such a cause, and do the broadcasts to make bank on that basis. Or you might set up a small non-profit yourself, but (carefully) put related for-profit ads on your non-profit site, then promote traffic to the site via the voice campaign. Look for details about how people create that kind of set-up on online discussions of the subject, or other outside the box methods.

Not it is not illegal but what will get you into trouble is calling someone like me on the do not call list. It is called telemarketing here.

It depends on the state and whether it is B2B or not. "Just after closing, just before open" broadcasts to B2Bs (know the timing and make it sound like a real person who missed them, script it as unscripted if you know what I mean) works. Broadcasting to residents often violates telemarketing regulations and is a nightmare to scrub for legality even if was not.

If you are low on cash. Pull out your favorite desktop and browser automation tool, your favorite audio player, and Google voice. It is slow as it only does one call at a time, but this is actually a good thing as you might have to "jump on the line" as is required by law if someone answers and really wants to talk to someone.
